Im looking for a clutch that could hold about 550-600wtq with room to spare. Ive heard about spec clutches and they seem cheap, but Im wondering what the other options are. Also will I need a new master slave cylinder? Any help would be appreciated for a y body noob
I use the RPS on my car with over 700+ rwhp and like it. I also changed to the Z06 slave and master with it. This will hold your HP goals without a doubt. The new Z07 will probalby hold your numbers and is more affordable as long as you also change to the Z06 slave and master

RPS or Aussie clutch are also options. Definitely replace the slave and add a remote bleeder line.

Hope that helps,

When I did my clutch, I had an adjustable master cylinder and z06 slave cylinder installed. Should have done the remote bleeder at the time, but I screwed that part up...Defintely get that done when you do the clutch, dont wait till later because its a PITA to remove the torque tube cover to get to the slave cyl.
Lot's of good suggestions in this thread...
But speaking from my personal experience, I like the Textralia (Aussie) clutch systems. I'm just installed my Textralia clutch & aluminum flywheel, I love it!
Also, the clutch came complete with a new slave. I purchased mine from LG Motorsports for $1095 (less $ for steel flywheel option).
Textralia suggests a 200 mile (city driving) break in period which is a huge plus for me. I'm not very patient and I think it's a drag when you install new parts and have to break them in before you get to test them out.
I ran a full season on my Cartek unit; just replaced it with another. The first held up to many 5500 rpm launches with 750 foot pounds of rear wheel torque.
