I'm getting a BBK intake manifold for my 99 Corvette Hardtop, but i'm wondering which throttle body i should get. Fast 90mm T.B. or BBK 80mm T.B. BBK is cheaper but Fast is bigger. What do you guys think I should get?
I also would say neither at this point, there has been so much success now with the ported LS2 and they are rather inexpensive to start with I would go that route. The FAST had issues early on, not sure if they still do.
I haven't seen anyone post anything yet that suggests any of the throttle bodies are anything but a waste of money.
If this is going on an LS6 manifold, I would agree. I assume he is looking at the FAST 90 intake to take advantage of the TB. Otherwise, ported stock is a good option.

I don't know what bolt configuration the BBK manifold has, or even if the FAST 90 TB will fit. There's been lots of discussion about the FAST TB sticking, so I'd go with the LS2 or Nick Williams, if they fit that manifold.
does anyone have the bbk T/B on their car, I hear a lot of "I hear its garbage" but hearing and knowing are 2 different things
I've had the 80mm BBK w/LS6 intake on my car for over 4 years...its gone along with upgrades that increased power from 345rwhp to the current 850rwhp. It has performed flawlessly! Several other local cars use the 80BBK with the same solid reliable performance. I don't know where the idea that its junk came from...mostly people that have never used one... passing on B.S. as accurate information.

Do a search there, there's plenty of testimonies of members who've owned this throttle body and have had trouble with it. I guess you and your friends have been lucky.

Everything I have seen on the BBK manifold says it has an 85mm opening, so a Fast 90mm won't even fit. Personally, unless you're going to hi-boost FI, the BBK is a waste of money. More weight, heat soak problems, and minimal HP gains. Also, early models of the Aluminim intake had a lot of issues with poor sealing. Don't know if that has been cleared up.
I have a ported LS6 TB on a F.A.S.T LSX that takes up to a 78mm TB and it works perfect for my set up on a DD. Like mentioned port a LS2 TB and enjoy it.

BTW why does the F.A.S.T whistle? There is no vacuum leak. I was told that is the characteristics of the F.A.S.T
I can hear induction noise, I'm not sure if I would call it a whistle though. I also have H&C, LT's, and no cats, so it's tough to hear anything but exhaust.
The manifold's walls are thinner than stock, that's possibly why we can hear noises we haven't before.

Being "thiner" is a good point.I'll put the stethoscope on it to see it I can located the area where the whistling is coming from. But surely it isn't a vacuum leak.
