That does sound low. I know that Mustang dynos have a reputation for low numbers, but I don't know how much lower is normal. Your car should dyno around 285-300rwhp in stock form on a dyno jet.
I think the tester kept the car in second gear also. I wonder if that would play a role in the low numbers. He claimed the car would wind out to long on the dyno.
I would seriously question if the dyno operator has a clue. Dyno pulls should always be performed in whatever gear is 1:1 ratio (or close to it). This is true of any car... it's not just a Corvette thing (and this tranny has been around for years, in a variety of GM vehicles).
For your A4, the pull should have been made in third gear. The 248/261 numbers are meaningless if it was in fact run in 2nd gear. If you go back to have it re-done, make sure you get SAE corrected numbers...not STD.
No tuning at all. I may do some build up on the car over the winter and wanted to get a baseline for where it sits now. I have a mangnaflow catback w/ x pipe kit and waiting to save for a set of long tubes. After I have installed both I will look for a tune.

I see. Well there is no other direction to go, but up then. Good luck with the mods.
