Default Honker Dyno Results

figured id share this since every now and then someone asks about it. i went ahead and got a honker intake when i found out i would have a good shot at some dyno time so i installed it made sure everything worked then dynoed the car with both the stock intake and the honker in the span of about an hour. info on the runs:
-dynojet dynamometer
-average of 3 runs all in 4th gear
-smoothing on each run was 3
-3 gaps due to failure to read spark were filled in with linear data (gaps were 180, 70, 50 RPM long. not sure if the data didnt get recorded or if the program just didnt export it properly)
-SAE corrected
-large fan blowing on front of car
-extra smaller blower shooting air under chin (placed just infront of large fan's base)
-car was warm (190-200 deg coolant, had just been driven 3 hours so it was fully warmed up) for each run

info on car:
-1999 z51 coupe
-mn6
-stock engine
-stock drivetrain (exceptions hurt short throw shifter - should have no effect, gm z06 rear wheels with stock sized goodyear gs-d3s)
-no tune before or after honker install

stock: 312.70 hp @ 5560 RPM, 321.85 ftlb @ 4050 RPM
honker: 325.40 hp @ 5680 RPM, 331.88 ftlb @ 4640 RPM
peak improvement: 12.70 hp, 10.03 ftlb
best improvement: 15.04 hp @ 6040 RPM, 13.73 ftlb @ 4950 RPM

videos
0070 - honker run 3
0071 - stock run 1
0072 - my friends mazdaspeed 3, not sure which mods he was dynoing right then

hey no problem, im glad i could do it. figure anything i do should be posted somewhere to benefit others. i know i would have loved to have seen something like this before i bought the intake so since i couldnt find anything, just decided to do it myself. now all we need is something similar for other intakes. there will be more stuff like this to come. got some suspension/brake work to be done and when i finish piecing together my heads/cam/exhaust stuff, im trying to do a step by step dyno comparison on all of that.

I'm curious. How many miles on the engine? Have you leaked it lately?
Your increase is a few hp less than we would expect.

turned 34000 on my way back home. while it is a 99 car, it was built in 10/98. im still doing research but i am curious if the engines may have been a little different. i did nothing other than swap intakes so if there is something that needs to be cleaned/calibrated/checked/etc. id really appreciate it if you let me know and i will add it to my list. it also only drove for 55 miles with the intake on (granted it was slow and took 3 or so hours) but ive heard you need to drive for a bit on it to get the computer use to the increased air flow. could that have had something to do with it?
