What would be my best choice of exhaust? Right now Im looking at B&B Bullets. ( Performance, Sound, etc. ) I want something Loud, but not obnoxious. Is the stock ZO6 exhaust the best performance wise?
Also Leaning towards Callaway Intake.
Let me know this is my first Muscle car. Im used to talking in liters not inches. I had an EVO, and a SC 350z.
There was some test data on several exhausts a while back, bottom line, you won't get any (maybe 3-5) hp from an aftermarket system over the stock Z06 system. Not only that, but you will add a lot of weight to boot. But I also like the deeper sound too. I am actually running the Z06 system on my convertible. As for the inlet side, the Honker is a good setup. I am running that now and I like the larger filter. The Vararam is another good setup, but they don't have as large a filter and I didn't like the fitment too well on that one. A lot of guys like it though and it gets favorable points for performance.
Exhaust gains are minimal. Pick your exhaust based on sound. Which ever sound you like best. Go to the track or car shows and listen to the vettes. Listening to the exhaust clips online just isnt the same. For intake, Vararam seems to be the best as far as performance. There is a good sale on them going on right now in the for sale section.
I had the Z06 catback on my car with the stock coupe exhaust and it was a little louder than the factory setup. It really got loud when I had American Racing headers installed. So, if you plan on headers down the road, I would really suggest the Z06 exhaust.
