Put a nice set of BFG street tires on the 18in rims. Pick up a set of cheap 17in wagon wheels and put a nice drag radial, Mickey Thompson ET street radial, Hoosier, Nitto, BFG. Run them when you want to play. If you have your stock wagon wheels on with the slightly larger tire on a 17in rim you prob wont even notice the size diff except go a bit wider on the rear tire to atleast a 285/40/17. Just my Opinion but it really depends on what you want to happen with the car.
OMG are they finally out. The picture is blurry, what is the treadwear rating. Do they look like they'd work okay in a little rain (the BFG's have the big bald spot in the middle on the 18's which is why i've avoide them), the tread pattern on these don't look bad!! I've been waiting forever for these things !!

Here are a few more photo's a little clear. I'll be testing them tomorrow, best 60ft with the run flats has been 1.90 we'll see what kind of a difference these make.
That doesn't seem right? Seems they'd be a lot softer? My BFG's have a treadewear of 0 and Nittos are at a 100? Confused. Do you know how much tread they have on them (6/32?)?
Well just got back from the track and I can give you my evaluation of these tires.
First I've only had experience with the run flats on my 03 convertible. Last month went to the same track with the run flats the best I could do was a 1.90 60 ft with a et of 11.95 @ 123 mph
Today weather was about 5 degrees cooler, after a little playing with the air pressure I ended up at 26 lb of air in the Mickey Thompson's, Last pass has been my best with this vehicle
11.15 @ 126.499 with a 1.58 60 ft.
I can tell you these tire do hook, but also in the same breath they feel like Sh^t, at least at the speeds above. The car felt like it was wondering all over the place which one pass I aborted after the 1/8 mile. My speed at the 1/8 was 97 mph and I ended up crossing the line at 97 mph at 11.64 figure that out. Has anyone else experienced this with any other type tires, where the car feels like it running on its tippy toes. Any way I will keep them on for now, I'll try a different track next week and see how they feel there.

With 26lbs in them Im kind of suprised the car felt that loose, granted they are much softer than the run craps and you are likely going to feel some overall loss in upper end stability. I have not personally run the M/T radials but I have run the Nittos and the BFG's (old and new style). I have also run the Kumho Victoracer (road race compound tire) which I was able to get 1.65-1.70 60' time out of. The Kumhos were the most stable but next to them I would say the Nittos, they are probably the most friendly tire from the street to track transition but are likely to the tire that will hook up the worst compared to the BFG and the M/T. I currently run the 18" BFG's on my stock Z06 rims but I have only got about 6-7 passes on them and although I was able to better my 60' compared to the one in my sig I have not run a overall better ET..... both trips to the track were in very hot humid weather with a very high DA, this fall I will get back there a couple of times to see if I can get a better number.
