I'm currently running the CCW drag setup, with skinnies up front and MT ET Streets 26x11.5x16 rears.
I'd like to be able to drive to the track with the MT 315/45/R16 street radials and install the bias ply skinnies at the track.
2 questions:
Are the street radials as good or better than the et streets?
Can I run the street radials on the back and the bias ply skinnies up front?
I tried bias ply rears with radials up front and thought I was dead, it got so loose.

Most of the Guys I know with an A4 are running the M/T ET Street Radial tires on the rear. A radial tire in back for A4 is also recomended by M/T. The bias ply tires in the rear are a better choice for manual trans cars by virtue of their side wall flex which absorbs a great deal of drivetrain shock.

Thanks for the information. Can I run the radials with bias ply skinnies up front, safely?

True, but when I raced my C5Z, I ALWAYS ran w/ Et Streets out back & stock Good Years up front. I NEVER had any issues w/ feeling floaty or loose......EXCEPT when I went down below 16psi (I think). Then it got a little loose on the top end. With my near stock power then though, that psi yielded too much grip anyway as I bogged down badly even while launching at 6400 rpm's.
I never went that low again & NEVER had an issue.
Anyone saying it gets floaty eithe had LOW psi in the rears, had ALOT more RWHP, or doesn't know what they're talking about.

Yes you can, but I wouldn't tell anyone it's "safe." I do it with the Camaro (MT drag radial in back, ET front bias ply skinnies in front) I did it to save weight on the front. Aside from that there is really no other reason to do it.

You should not mix bias ply and radial. It will sway bad on the big end at least from what Ive seen at the track. Maybe you had no problems because you ran more than 16LBS of pressure which makes sense.

As I said, when I had bias on the rear and radial up front it was not good.
What I'm asking is it okay with ET street radials in the rear and bias ply "skinnies" up front. I'm getting feedback that this combo will be okay.
