Default New Engine Numbers - Decent??

Don't have the graph from my dyno today but we just finished the install on my '00 coupe with an LS6, 243 modded heads from CNC (before they closed up shop), w/ 11.7-1 compression, 59cc chamber, cam w/ 232,236, .595 / .601, 114+4 SLA, 1-7/8" Kooks race headers / x-pipe, ported LS6 intake, Shaner ported/polished TB, LS6 MAF, Callaway Honker air intake, etc, etc. Had crap gas (been in the tank for over 4 weeks and only 1/2 tank at that so probably had some condensation to boot) plus it was only 90 octane!! ran out of injector just short of 6k RPM (stock LS6 inj - went to 110% duty cycle when they said ef it!) and we got 442rwhp, 401trq out of it.
Running lean, not enough timing, not enough injector, bad gas, 97 degree hot a** Texas weather, wanting more air/gas etc.

Next week we will, at the very least. do some 42# injectors and possibly a ported/matched Fast 90 to match the heads, and an LS2 TB and MAF. Hope for around 480 - 490 rwhp and 425-440trq, possibly more. And then nitrous???????

150 shot ought to do it about right.

So, do these numbers look good or not? With some DRs on the back, think I should be able to get below 10.80 ok?

FYI - Thanks to MJUSTMIKE for the engine (I owe you one Mike!), AntiVenomEFI for the CNC heads/cam setup (awesome Greg!!), and Mike, Jay, and all the guys at G-Force in Pearland, TX for the install, suggestions, and tune.

We ended up with 30# Ford Redtops, kept a pretty conservative tune in it, 23* timing, around 13 AFR, and set REV limiter @ 6600 (we did a couple of pulls to 7k with a little more HP but wanted to keep it safe as it is my daily driver) and this is what we ended up with at the end of the day (97* temp, 72% humidity)

Sounds like all the odds are against you LOL She'll come around with dynoing in the evening or morning cooler out (well as cool as it can), get some great gas in there, bigger injectors and do the fast and tb I would think you should see around 470rwhp and 425rwtq. Easy to hit a 10.8 with those #'s. GIVER HELL AND KEEP THE SHINEY SIDE UP!!!!

G-Force in Pearland. Good shop, great guys, know way beyond their years about Vette and F-body performance etc. The best thing I can say for them is they are a bunch of the most honest guys I have met in the auto repair / performance industry in many years.

No worries taking work to them.

OK! Got the final numbers, with a conservative SAFE tune. Kept a little rich and not too too much timing thrown in (23*) and went with 30# Ford redtops. These ran at only 80% duty cycle with the tune we left in so there is still room to grow.

Starting numbers: 442rwhp, 401trq
Ending numbers after injectors and conservative tune, REV limiter set at 6600RPM: 460rwhp, 413trq.

We had more power but to keep it really safe (this IS my daily driver ya know!) we left it on the conservative side. Even when it hit the rev limiter it was still making power. I'll post the dyno sheet tomorrow as I was so pleased with the results, I hauled a** without it!

Here's the kicker, and I still don't believe it and am going on an extended cruise tomorrow to verify, but the DIC was telling me I was getting 38MPG with the cruise set at 70MPH. I will verify tomorrow if this is accurate or not but if it is, nothing like getting power and economy together!

Once again, my hat is off to Greg at AntiVenom for one heck of head/cam package, and everyone at G-Force for a great install and tune. These guys are really great to deal with.

Thanks!

Tim

I'm going back to G-Force to pick up my old headers, exhaust, and clutch pack later today and will NOT forget to get my dyno sheet. Talking numbers is one thing but having them on paper is another. Will post the substantiating evidence later today!

Great numbers! Had the exact same combo in my 346, bought the package from Greg and installed it myself a few years ago. Wound up with 455/435. You should raise the rev limiter to at least 6800 rpm, as it will pull very strong up to 7k. Word of caution, PTV is pretty tight because of the angle milled heads,,,,I wound up fly-cutting my pistons shortly after the install,,,,lost a bit of compresion, but gained ALOT of peace of mind! The more you drive the car the better you are going to like it! BTW, mine got great highway mileage also, 28-30 mpg at steady 75mph freeway speeds. Congrats.

Jimbo

I forgot to add, love your car! Wish they had Nassau Blue when I bought my car!

That's awesome Tim!!! Real glad you're happy!
Everyone doubted me on the numbers and there you go getting even better than I had thought. Tq seems a bit low but definately nothing to wheeze at......remember she's still a bit tight.......
Watch the N20......might keep it around 100 shot on the stock bottom end (I've heard that ~ 125 is maxfor the stock LS6, but what do I know). I wouldn't be able to give a deal on the C5r....

Really great dealing with you and definately enjoyed the talks!! Good luck with everything!!

Jimbo - Thanks for the comments and in talking to Greg, I don't have to worry about PTV as Greg flycut these due to yours and everyone elses feedback that had this same package. Concerning the rev limiter: We actually took it 7K a couple of times but since this if my daily driver, wanted to keep it rather conservative so we richened it up, brought the timing down some, set the rev limiter at 6600 (FYI - made 482rwhp at 7k w/28*timing, AFR at 12)

Thanks Mike! What a pleasurable transaction. Next time I'm up in your neck of the woods I will definitely give you a shout. I doubt if I will even do the N2O as good as this thing is now. No need! Just throw a Fast 92/TB/MAF combo on it, keep it safe, and should be more than enough for a daily driver!

I've driven it about 200miles now and getting better every day!! Thanks again for a sweet deal and great transaction.
