The air got much better by 4:30 on as the barometer went up, the skies cleared and the wind died completely.
The evening session had it best with great prep, rubber, air, and all the runs runs they wanted for $15.
The barometer did rise up a little bit by the night session and at first there was little to no wind (the flags were quite limp ). But right around 7:00 - 7:30pm the wind really picked up again, Bruce's GTO was down almost .75mph because of that damn wind and those 29-32 degree temps didn't help traction much either.
And yes I'd made 7 passes and could've gotten up to 12+ if I'd wanted to, but the street tired cars did start to really chew up the good prep you guys had left for us.
Other than that (and the BITTER cold) it was a good night at the track with new bests for lots of us.

I wish I would have stayed.
7:00 was probably the best time to run then.
Rob,
All you need is a slight tail breeze for that 1.399 sixty foot...lol
Awesome stuff Tommy. I love the launch and the 3-4 shift.
Pitt
I know what to do to go 1.38ish.
The problem is that the car is so dialed in, a small change can make a drastic swing in et.
So we need to make tiny adjustments.(Something I learned throughout this experience.)
IOW The thing we change to get the 1.3x may hurt us trying to go low 9.9x, but at some point it's needs to be attempted.
What was the temp out that day down there? I'm debating going to cecil tomorrow but the high is going to be around 37-39deg's and i'm afraid of what the top end of the track is gonna be like. Atco preps their track alot better then most and this was a rental so they probably sprayed the entire track to make sure you guys were safe
Atco took care of the track real well, they always do. I really want to give them some credit it was hooking all day. Thanks.
Nice driving Tommy , what the heck is taped to the back window ? Looks like two sheets of paper and some blue tape ???
Here's a multiple choice:
A) An official 9 second certificate given out by the track.
B) A quick repair with paper and blue tape because Tommy punched a hole in the back windshield after only running 10.0 on the previous pass.
C) A list of all the things I made for Tommy to remember when taking a pass.
D) Directions on how to change an axle.
E) all of the above

Hey rob if you dont mind me asking, what shifter and know are you using? And how exactly are you shifting? Straight powershift? You can pm me if you would like.

I have the original Hurst.
My technique is clutch to the floor and powershift if I have a chance for a better et.
Tommy has his own style
I wish I would have stayed.

That's exactly what I'd thought earlier in the afternoon before I left my home and that's exactly how it went...my best pass of the night came at 7:08pm.
What sucks is I still had an extra 6 or 7 pounds of extra crap in the car at that point, I took it out and yet never came within 3/100ths of my best again even though the barometer went up a little bit but that's also when the wind picked up again as well.

Good chit, there's a science to figuring out the weather!
