Well i went to the track today. It was the first day of the year for the track, mind you I'm in Michigan. Was ~45* today. Only about 8 cars there, track was a dump but its convenient. Car is a 99 coupe m6. Only mod is a corsa catback. Lowered on longer bolts and 305/30/19 nitto invo's outback . Anyways, this is the first stick car I've ever taken down a track and it is no walk in the park . My WS6 was an A4 and MUCH easier, but I did find the M6 more fun. Passes were all 13.3-13.8 @ 109-112, terrible 60'. Best pass was 13.3@110 with a 2.2 60'. Best 60' was a 2.17, also ran 13.3 there. Car traps well for what it has I think, but it is aweful out of the hole, haha. Time for some DRs on the stock wagon wheels! I tried slipping it from a low rpm, it would bog, dump it would spin, slip from 3500 ish seemed the best (but the best was still bad). Slip was 4k was in smoke. Street tires + M6 FTL My slammed stance can't be helping with traction either. So now I have a baseline and can toss on some more bolt ons and see what it does! The game begins now!
It is a never-ending battle from here on out. No matter how fast you get it, it won't be fast enough.
My 02 coupe was stock before last year. Now after one racing season, I'm supercharged with blower cam, 2600 stall t/c, 3.42 gear, and lots more on M/T DRs (working on Weld skinnie fronts now).
I'm now running right at 11 seconds at 122 mph in 1/4 mile. My best 1/8 mile is 7.08 at 96mph with 1.61 60'.
Hide your credit card RIGHT NOW and forget where you hid it!!!!!
Sounds like you had a good time, 13.3 is about right on..get the 60 down and you should see some 12.9's 12.8's...Slammed,, you should try and get the back end up a little, try getting it up about a 1/2 " and see if that will help.. Leave the front down..
have fun and good luck.
yea, i've been down the road before and had the bug bite me hard with my last trans am. It ended up being a forged 347, APS kit, built 3600 stalled A4, etc etc, haha. Got tired of the problem so I don't think I'll be going too drastic with this car and just keep enjoying it! I traded my 2 rear 18" wagon wheels for 2 more 17's. Just need some basic front tires and some 275/45/17 MT DR's and that should help a lot!
