Default 6spds using Lingenfelter 2step-STEP INSIDE!

OK I'm thinking about putting one in.... ok well actually I bought one I'm gonna put it in OK i'm curious about install which I understand is plug and play very easy minus setting up the activation part can get detailed/timely. Soooo I'm curiuos of those using it and their results on 6spd car mostly. With my twin disc my launches I'll be leaving up the clutch to just before it starts to grab on the launch. To me this means you cannot use the clutch switch because I wont have the pedal to the floor. Soo i'm curious what you're using to switch and recommendations aswell. Write ups all that jazz and good ****. I want to get more consistant with the launches and most importantly I want one less thing to concentrate on while launching to reduce the chance of breaking things. I want my mid 1.4x 60fts I should be doing soon and the ET's I want.
I'll be using the LNC-002 with timing control for the top secret mod later on once I feel comfortable with the car.

You could just use a generic type of nitrous full throttle switch that you mount right at the point of where you want your clutch pedal to be upon launch. Just a thought.

Just how big of a shot is that top secret mod? Thanks for posting this thread...you saved me some effort.

Good thought.I already have the WOT switch and possibly FP does too.

There's another switch other than the neutral safety switch on the floor you could use. It must be some sort of clutch position switch that will disengage the 2 step when the clutch is in a certain position close to all the way up.
But of course there is always a compromise.
This will affect the shifts and I don't think you will be happy. It may work if you are someone who just kicks the clutch pedal on the shifts.

I recommend using the 2 step the way it was intended. Dump the clutch and have the gas to the floor.
This is ideal for reaction time. As for max et and best launch, I'm not convinced a 2 step is the way to go.

I only have about 7 passes with the 2 step, but I love it. I think the worst 60' I have with it is 1.60. That includes some easy launches to get used to the track.

Here is how I hooked it up.

There are three switches that activate the 2 step in my setup. The master toggle switch, the momentary microswitch on the shifter above and a switch on the clutch. When all three are closed (at the tree) I can hold the throttle to the floor and the 2 step will control launch RPM. If any one of the switches opens (clutch release, pull into 2nd gear) the 2 step will no longer have control.

From the LPE-002:
12volt ignition wire ---> master toggle switch ---> momentary microswitch on shifter base ---> relay & stock clutch switch (cruise control switch, on the dash side not the firewall - this switch is closed when clutch pedal is depressed) ---> 12v yellow on LPE-002

So, I turn on the master toggle switch.
Get into 1st gear
Light the staged bulb
Clutch is pushed in
Floor the throttle and the 2 step limits the RPM to set value
When I release the clutch, the 2 step is de-activated so I can get WOT
When I push clutch in and pull into 2nd gear the switch on the shifter de-activates the 2 step for the rest of the pass.

The bracket and switch I fabbed up:

Thanks Rob, I'm still playing with it. The tricky part is the clutch switch. If you use the one on the floor, it goes WOT very quick. If you use the one on the dash side like mine, you have to be very quick on the 1-2 shift or the 2 step will kick in.

I mainly put it in b/c I'm doing a Pinks event in a couple weeks. I figured it would be easier to get to my set RPM with the whole arm drop thing. Turns out I really like it. Makes launches much easier.

If I was going to do it again, I would get the new LNC-003. The LNC-002 has timing retard, but I don't need that with a blower. With the LNC-003, you can preset your launch RPM AND your top end limiter. It uses limits spark for the limiter vs fuel cutout on the stock PCM limiter (not good with a blower setup).

2 step + No slip+ full grip = A bunch of broke parts. Ask me how I know.lol

I don't use mine anymore. Bell housing, diff housing, gears, and a axle with a 5000 rpm 2 step launch.

That only stands to reason, that's why I will only use mine at low rpm launch's for improved R/T (Pro .500 tree) in the 11.00 index class. Thanks for the words of wisdom.

I was hoping for some tire spin but got a dead hook. I think with a higher rpm launch I would of been ok.

You want some tire spin for ease on parts.

Is $400 a good price for the LNC-003 and a 90mm NOS plate kit with bottle heater, purge, and dual window switch?
