Was thinking about lowering my car whenever I get around to installing my C6Z shocks and C6 Z51 sways. I was thinking of ownly doing about a half an inch or so. If I am going to do it now is the time while I have everything apart and before I get an alignment.
Discuss the pros/cons of slightly lowering a car and its result on its 60'.
mines was already lowered 3/4", so I don't have any before or after info, but remember robz saying he lowered his car a hair to help w/ weight transfer and drag I believe
Well I did my suspension stuff. I was going to lower it about a half an inch but the front bolts will not move. I feel like if I force them they will just snap, very rusted. So I left it alone for now.
I just measured my 99 stock FRC and from the center of the wheel to the fender was 15 3/4" and the front was 15 1/2"
(can't go by off the ground measurements due to different tire heights)
I have no idea what works best I tried every combo possible, from all the way up in the front to lowered just above the tire in the rear.
I now think stock could be it.
I did read that the shock is supposed to have 2/3's travel left at ride height. So I adjusted my ride height to the shock (not sure what those measurements are now) but it seems to help.

Nick,
The bottom of the adjustment bolt gets fused to the cradle.
If you jack up the spring close to the bolt to relieve pressure (spray some Blaster also)
the bolt turns semi Ok, there still a butch to turn. Drinking also helps.

I may try it this weekend and just pray the bolt doesn't break. I still have to finish that stereo I started in January.

Edgar had posted a while ago that he saw a small drop in 60' time when he lowered his car slightly. I personally cannot se it making a difference IF the car dead hooks in both scenario's, but I could be wrong.

I'm happy if it does not make a difference, I want to do it for looks. But I want to be sure it wont hurt my 60'.
How many turns should you see out of the front bolts????? I have a 00 FRC and it was tough getting them to turn at all... I quit doing cuz i think i moved my wrench a total of 5 times on either side.. Not sure really what my other options are at this point.
My '99 FRC is lowered all the way on the stock bolts and so far the best short time I have pulled was a 1.66 and that was a bog launch. I have been wondering if the shorter C6 Z06 shocks would help me. Its getting time to change my stockers anyhoo... they have 48,000 miles on them now. See my video below:
Ran mid 1.8's at stock height on Saturday. Lowered it on Sunday and will head back to the track soon before the weather changes drastically. Patience grasshoppa!
Are you running on street tires, ET Streets, or ET Drags?
M&H 26x11.5x16 bias plys. I know, I know, it's a high 60'. But I plan on being sucky at launching when I go to the track again, so all things (except ride height) should be consistent between Saturday and my next passes.
