Default It just gets better!

Another new best for me tonight at Atco.

Pretty cool out - 52 Degrees. Sorry no video - I forgot to bring my camera.

I was really hoping to get a 1.59 or better 60' tonight, but it just wouldn't happen.

I'm really looking forward to the SmackDown at MIR.

Great job Pete, you WILL be taking the C5 LS1 (aka: 'non Z06') bolt on record within the next two months!

You've already captured the manual C5 LS1 bolt on number.

Thanks guys.

I think the only changes before MIR will be;

Removing the passenger seat

Putting my skinnys on the front - I have them, just havent used them yet.

Getting a manual seat track for the driver's seat.

Hopefully the clutch holds up through all this madness.

PS what is the LS1 bolt-on record? Is it the at the top of the 1/4 list here - 11.62?

Yes, that's it. It was set by 'Face' (Mike B.) from Long Island years ago in an automatic coupe.
My friend Artie was a close 2nd (also a coupe automatic but he still had stock manifolds and cats on his) with an 11.63.

You could run an 11.3x before 2009 is over.

Wow this was made with full fronts and a passanger seat? That manual seat track will knock off a decent amount of weight(I did the exact same thing last year). Are you going to remove the sway bar too?

You can always run 4 lugnuts on each tire to save weight.

You really dont need that 5th lugnut so why carry it along? Plus its rotating mass.

You are going to make this tough for j0n. I dont think hes going to have gears.

Even I wouldn't go as far as to run only 4 lugs per wheel.

That's true. The two things Jon has going for him is that his car is slightly lighter than Pete's to begin (even before any reductions) and he is a very good driver.
Though obviously Pete has come A LONG way since those first few passes I saw him make last year LOL, he's obviously doing a phenomenal job out there now.
Without gears Jon might not actually be able to run quicker than 11.7s which is still movin' for a bolt ons only LS1 C5.

I question your dedication then.

Your doubt disappoints me. Have faith in j0n. He will deliver.

His FRC isn't that much lighter than Capt's vert right?

Thats with you in it right?

Edit:

Decided to look it up......

coupe (with manual) - 3230/1465
coupe (with auto) - 3253/1476
convertible (with manual)- 3231/1466
convertible (with auto)- 3254/1476
hardtop (manual only) - 3174/1440

j0n has about 60lbs on you. All other weight reduction mods being equal of course. But the FRC came manual tracks(right???), if so you will close that gap. Everything else will probably be the same, unless he decides to lose some lugnuts.

Dude, in the past I've taken the cigarette lighter out of my car before making a pass, I'm clearly dedicated.

In stock trim the hardtop might be almost 100 (likely closer to 70 or 80) pounds lighter than the 'vert depending on each car's options/packages.
