New best time last night. The slip did not show my 60ft (left lane was like that all night) but I was spinning well into 2nd gear on 305/35/18 nitto drags. I am happy with the time but was looking for advise on the spinning.
I heated the tires very well and slipped the clutch from 3500rpm in comp. driving mode. I tried many different ways as far as how I slipped the clutch but each time I would spin all the way thru 1st and half way thru 2nd. It wasn't a bad spin as the car was still moving forward but at the same time you could tell it was holding me back from some very good times. My best mph of the night was 122.63 but that was on a 11.8x run.
Also I used to run back@415rwhp (smaller cam no fast intake) and trapped the same as I am now, only difference being I had 3.90 gears back then. Do gears make this large a difference in your MPH? Anyhow my best 1/8 was 7.626@97.19, looking for any comments and advise on getting this thing off the line, I think with some practice I could see some lower 11's as is.
EDIT: on a 2nd thought I think it is the gears because looking back at some older slips I was only doing 94-95mph in the 1/8 and still pulling 122 in the 1/4, I think the 4th gear shift with 3.42 does not get my car into its power zone as I cross the traps, if I could cross @ 6500-6800 rpm I think I would be trapping much higher. Might be time to get some new gears.

17 psi, I did a nice smokey brake burnout on all runs. Track is Houston Raceway Park, it might have been the track prep it was a pretty slow Friday night Test/Tune. It seems if I try to launch below 3,000 it wants to bog down.
Yeah 18psi yielded 1.7x for my buddies cammed c5z w/ those tires, if there weren't enough cars laying down rubber and keeping the track warm then that's a possibility, last night was pretty cold.

Yea low 50's and there were alot of dumbasses driving through the waterbox and dripping water all over the place. I wish I could have at least know what my 60 was though, lol. I'm guessing high 1.8 or low 1.9. Next mod is for sure 3.90 gears.
