made it out to no problem raceway test and tune jan 6th. first time to the track with the 99frc. ran 4 times and managed to get
12.9 @ 111 w/ a 2.1 60'
2x 13.0 @ 111 w/ a 2.2
13.1 @ 111 w/ a 2.3
these runs are on stock size nitto invos. first time ever really launching it and first time on the track with a 6 sp. i'm happy to be in the 12's and i'm happy with the mph. i think with some stickier tires and a little practice launching i have a little more room for improvement. mods: ls6 intake, slp blackwing, slp long tubes w/ off road x, and some catback i've never seen on any other vette before (got no idea). whole car has 139.5k miles. any other opinions feel free to share them.

Good times bro! FWIW on the stock clutch and stock sized kumho asx tires I went a best of 1.94 launching ~3500rpm when cam-only

thanks! i'm sure i'll be back before summer to try again a couple of times. i was launching around 2-2500 getting excessive wheel spin. i need to play around a little more when it comes to launching. longer burnouts probably would have helped too! (brand new invos! sigh)

yeah track temp/prep plays a big part and practice as well...I don't really like to do a long burnout on street tires, causes them to get gumballs and don't have the money to burn
u have ls6 intake and headers? do u have a tune? im askin cause in jan the air is pretty good. some street tires do benefit from heating up. before my friend started burning out his ps2's, he could only net 2.0+ 60 fts. since heating them he gets consistent 1.8's in an 03 viper.
im planning on running my 190k mile frc when the tracks open.
Those times are almost identical to my first time at the track...
More practice and you'll see your times drop. Learning to launch these cars on street tires is tricky... If your budget allows, get some drag radials...

good luck!
yes it has an ls6 intake (verified # upon removal to replace knock sensors & oil press sensor). slp lt's. i'm not sure about a tune, for i bought it with the current mods already on it and i'm at least the 3rd owner. the owner before me didnt know many details about the car when i bought it from him. i dont think it has a tune because rev limiter is somewhere in the 6200 range and it has o2 sims on it. if it had a tune, wouldnt the rear o2s more than likely be tuned out? now how about some times from that 190k mile FRC!
Capthuff - i could swing drag radials, but i'm not sure if i should go that route right now...as much as i want to. i'm afraid of breaking things if i start hooking up. breaking things doesnt really fit in the budget at this current time (it does sound like a blast, however).
as always, i appreciate the replies. i'm sure i'll be making a trip to the track before this cold weather dissipates.

Reason: i like to repeat myself
The only thing I have ever broke was an output shaft, and yes that was with BFG DRs. Switching to 17" ET Streets on a set of Z06 front wheels have been great and no breakage and many hundreds of passes. the bias ply allows some of the shock to be absorbed. Anyway, low 12s are at hand should you get some tires and get the 60' down. I have a best of 1.53 on DR and abest of 1.51 on the Bias ply. By the way, we have a dedicated section for the FRC in the Z06 Fast List. The FRC is the fore runner to the Z06 so it gets its due respect with us. Submit your time, it is a top 10 run (you will need your slip).

you are at least 10x more likely to break runnin on street tires than drag radials.... TRUST ME. You are more likely to break wheelhopping than hooking.
Where are you located that the track is open now?
Good times.
You should really check into getting the car tuned, if for no other reason, to ensure you're not hurting the engine everytime you go WOT (and could be possibly running lean).
