I wish I could say I made it, but the case of my diff didn't like the 6krpm launch I tried to pull off and split wide open after going a theoretical 11.03(11.40 on a 1.79 shake down pass)...track was prepped well since Pro Mods had been running the past 2 days and I figured I'd go "All Out" since the gallon of E85 I mixed with the 1/4 tank on the way out had the car running ~.05 faster...Congrats to JamesE again on running a new PB of 10.74@131 on a 1.56 in ~1000ftDA
Sorry to hear of your breakage.
But, is it ever really over?
Was it over when the Germans bombed pearl harbor?
It in our blood. Sure the pain is fresh and it hurts, but, eventually you'll heal. You'll fix the car, and you won't be able to keep yourself from going back to the track. It'll start by you helpng a buddy, then you'll get the itch. And you know you're going to have to scratch that itch.
FUG DUDE!!!! You know i know this all to well. 3 diffs and a mainshaft later I called it a day. The C6Z06 will not break as I'm told and haven't seen one yet. Hence why I chose what I did. Man you have some really great runs in there. I can hook you up with the guy who helped me out with my rear diff and got me up and going fast!!!

[quote=LS1LT1;1573720788]Sorry to hear it man. While many of us have done it, going 10s NA still ain't easy and it's certainly not easy on drivetrain parts (or the wallet).
Especially with a stick and under 500hp, wish I had deeper pockets

Your story sounds all too familiar, I broke lots of drivetrain parts with the LS6. 2 diffs and 2 tranny rebuilds later and now with the 416 in the car I dont do high rpm clutch dumps or powershift it anymore and the drive train is holding up. (it better with all the good parts inside)!
Getting an N/A street car into the 10's ain't cheap or as easy as some think it is. Put the 3.42 back in it with some good parts in it. (hard shafts, posi upgrades and you'll be happy with the way it runs. I went back to the 3.42's and am glad I did.
I was hoping to beat you to the 10's, since my car is in the shop. I'll be on my 2nd built(3rd including stock) rear in 4 months. Keep going, if you can. Withdrawel from racing sucks.
Thanks for the help over the last few months.

Sorry to hear this and I know the feeling all to well. Also know the empty pockets feeling and not having the money tree freshly blooming like some of the others here. Good luck in whichever direction you choose.

No problem, I'll take a little credit when you get your 10 sec pass if ya don't mind lol...I'll still be auto-crossing it as I haven't broken anything doing that

Go big or go home is my motto...tired of going home on a flatbed
There's more to running down a drag strip than just setting a new PB every time. You should give 11.50 index racing a try. It's a heads up format and your actually "drag racing" against other skilled drivers. You'll find out that winning drag races is way more fun than just busting up your car for a time slip. Just my two cents!!
