Default LS1 Stroker kit ????

I am considering putting a stroker kit in my 1998 LS1. Does anybody have suggestions? The car is weekend car and maybe occasionally track run.

I'm just running Eagle kits in both my 383 & 402's which has turned out to be 99% street driving because of job loss (and summer heat).

Eagle 4.00" crank,Eagle H-Beam Rods and JE pistons for 3.905 bore/hone = 383 stroker.

Edit; Also ARP L19 rod bolts (over kill) and main studs...if your building a stroker then build it "strong". The JE pistons are -2 cc for a higher scr,it's a nitrous engine.

I don't recall what all we put in mine to make it a 383, but I can tell you the seat of the pants reaction was that new engine makes way more power on motor than my stock LS1 with a Procharger and 6 psi did

if I was going to put a stroker kit in ..... I would just do an LS3 block.... cost of the new block is going to be not that much more than preping your old LS1 block.... New LS3 block and some ported LS3 heads... woah... thats gonna be a monster

i do believe you felt the increase in torque when launching thus the seat of pants felt strong. should be close to 12% increase in torque with stroker the s/c doesnt give you anything extra on launch, needs to get moving to feel s/c

I've got an Lq4 I'm planning for the winter, I'll either do a 402 or 413 in probably the scat like above. Good stuff and very streetable plus bad *** power for some drag racing fun. I'll probably sell my ported ls1 heads, intake and tb, do the l92 ported head and ls3 intake-90mm tb. Should make at least 500hp at the wheels, since my ls1 makes 414 on dynojet.

Why are you thinking about stroking the motor?

What times are you currently running at the track?

Yeah,if your building an entire engine from scratch and not reusing the LS1/LS6/LS2 heads, intake, ect, ect then the LS3 is definitely the way to go...it's only money you know!!

Just blew my motor recently and think I'm going to stay with a stock bottom end because even though it's only money, I feel I'd need two buckets full of it to do the ls3 swap.
