have done a 10.666 in the heat so im in the game n/a and as im giving up about 45 ci what would be reasonable. also restrictions on weight are void. how light can i get. c/f hood goes on tomorrow. still need race seat. do i rate a 50 shot for ci diff. is that reasonable. what do you think dave?

What about that silly little thing you call a tranny.... SISSYMATIC???? What do I get for that? Do I get something for going against that? Bringing a freaking sissymatic to the table and asking for a 50shot. You should be ashamed of yourself!

Sorry to say, it looks like a contest between you two guys. I seem to have killed another clutch in Bowling Green friday. The clutch was never fully dis-engaging and causing me to roll thru the stage lights every time. I made 3 runs and the clutch was burning bad. On the forth run, the guy knocked on my window and told me it smelled really bad. I rolled forward again and redlighted, so he waved me to back up. I couldn't even get the damn thing in reverse or 3rd gear. I just drove around and pulled it back on the trailer. That was a long 12 hr trip home

I haven't decided what I am going to do for clutch #6 in four years. The clutch and shifter were both new to the track, shifting was smooth as glass on 3 runs. MGW shifters are the bomb !!

Tell ya what, just mail me the decal and I will post a pic for ya, with it on the back window of my clutchless POS !!

For you Harley guys, she was running mid 11's in 2800 DA. It was lifting the front wheel about 6-8" shifting to third gear

pitt man...you got horrible luck brother...aftermarket clutches are so hit or miss even the $2000 units like the BC2's seem half work perfect half are junk in 500-1000 miles...youre better off putting a stock LS7 clutch in the car and quit drag racing it...too bad they dont make the LS9 kit to adapt to your crank...GM stuff that works with just a aftermarket flywheel fabricated to fit the different bolt pattern
your car ate:
-stock clutch
-2 RPS
-2 McLeod street twins

what are the others?

Maybe its time to go to a sissyomatic?
What did it run on the 3 passes you did make? Let us know the carnage when you get it pulled and post some pictures

Prob not gonna happen. Would have to decide on a clutch, order, install and try to break it in. Then that long drive to run on an un-proven clutch. Ughhh, I just don't have the physical drive in me right now. I feel like leaving the key in the ignition and parking it some where.

1 stock
1 RPS twin
1 RPS single
2 McLeod Street twins
now need a new single = 6 clutches

I walked the track, VHT felt decent for 92 degree heat. I hadn't been on the track in this car for a year and a half. By the third run, it felt like it had only been 1 week away.

First run was without front skinny tires, real easy launch.
2.1 sixty with a 12.01 @ 85...she started swerving from tire mix

Second run:
4200 rpm launch
1.686 sixty on 15 psi hot, ET Streets
11.406 @ 123.16

Third run:
Tried to match psi, rpm and track prep
3200 rpm launch
1.573 sixty on 13 psi hot, ET Streets
11.223 @ 122.90 (about the same time as last year)
I have this run in HD with an outside camera. Came out awesome...nice smooth run, like a trip to the store...lol.

Forth run was aborted.

The DA was 2800+ and very hot out on the track. Jimbos 416 ran a 11.14 @ 129+...not sure of his sixty foot, 1.6 area I think. We tried to run against each other on the failed 4th run.

Thx, same here Kevin. Going to sit on it a week and get calmed down.

Yeah it did screw up all at once... but still worked, just wouldn't disengage enough to get in gear smoothly or get reverse at all. It is shifting again now that it has cooled down, but front disk is still dragging the flywheel and creeping forward. McCloud said it was shimmed wrong on the first one. I watched the guy do every step of this one, and he did exactly what they told me on the phone. I just don't get it ?? His same clutch lasted 4 years and a few hundred runs.

Move your *** back here ! My whole gang moved away on me...I'm holding the flag

Think I'm gonna switch my Mcleod master out for a Tic on the next round. If I put my peddle to the floor and lift my foot quick, the clutch peddle follows about a second later. That doesn't seem normal to me ?? The clutch burning smell was unreal too !!

Doctors prescription...
Get a Tick master, get a Monster stage 3 or 4 clutch and just enjoy the car racing periodically. PREZ06 will hook you up after you give him your story and get you a clutch at a good price before the end of the week. Tick master either pick one up used or new slap them in this weekend for minimal cost under $999 with fluids and break it in. Come up and have fun!!!!!

Pitt, Sorry to hear about your clutch issues again. I had my McLeod Street Twin rebuilt and also replaced the master cylinder with their improved version during the winter of 09. The clutch is still going strong. I just went out to the garage and tested my clutch peddle release, there is no peddle delay whatsoever...obviously something just wasn't right with your clutch from the get go. Best of luck with getting back into the game - maybe a good single disc for now - that should get you through MIR and beyond.

Thanks for the info guys and thanks for testing that Dave. The delayed peddle has been like that since the install. Sounds like a pressure or weak spring issue to me.
I sold my last one, and bought this one brand new again, flywheel and all, like I always do. What is the chances of 4 bad clutches ?? Like a reverse lottery
