Got some free time together last night for once, so I finally put the new torque tube into the car and got it back together...and actually made opening night at the local 1/8th mile.
Nice cool night, DA in the high -100's
Came off the trailer and ran a gold T/A. Spun first time, we hotlapped back around...managed to run a new PB
7.087 @ 98.989 (1.559 60')
Track went away as it got colder, managed to back it up with a 7.099 @ 97.934 (1.547 60') later in the night. Ran 11 passes in 75 minutes to get back into the swing of things for the year.
My no lift shift (2 step activating between gears) got mistaken for nitrous backfires. Everyone kept talking about it and trying to nonchalantly peer in my back window to spot a bottle. I can't wait until the bottle is really in there....
All in all a good night, although I can't quite seem to crack that 6.99 @ 100.000. No doubt it'll happen once I bolt on the FAST 90/90 setup.
Nice runs Andy!
That with those 4X heads I sold you?
Scott
Yes sir!
a very sturdy 383 LS1, ~11.3:1 CR
Cartek 4x heads
242/244 610/612 112 cam
1 7/8" ARH headers, Meziere EWP, LS6 intake
Rick Kim RKt56.com built MN6 and 3.90 rear
and 27x10.5-16 ET Streets (I need 26's badly)
She'll be doing lots of eating on spray, once I ever get my time together and finances completely in line. It was never intended as an all motor setup, but rather for 2 solid stages on a methanol tuneup.
I've got a FAST I need to finish cleaning up the port work on and resealing, along with a LS2 TB and a C6Z06 intake to convert to a card style MAF. Has anyone run back to back without and with a FAST 90/90 setup? I'm hoping that should pick up the last little bit I feel like I'm missing.
Marshall I'm going to have a time catching up to you, that A4 just rolls off the line harder than I can ever manage.

Not done back to back runs, but I am selling my FAST 90/90 set up off my current 384 build.
Stepping up to a 416.
Sounds very close to what I had except I was running a smaller cam and 1 3/4" Kooks. I did have a 4.10 rear though.
Scott
good runs, what size of shots are you planning on running?
always nice to hear some track news....
Baezi
Going to start with a ~100 this week if I get a minute. That's about all I think I can get away with running off of the rail with only a Racetronix fuel pump/wiring setup.
Once the progressive controller, nitrous enrichment tank, fuel pumps and regulators go in....the sky is the limits. 100/150 2 stage? Maybe more?
Z-Max has test and tune this weekend, so I'll take the ~2.5 mile trip from my house to try a few 1/4mi passes at the "Bellagio of drag strips".....
I hope they've learned how to track prep since last year.

Good luck with that, Zmax is downright horrible. It's like they hired the guys that were so awful they got fired from Mooresville. I wish the guys from Pageland were in charge of Zmax, the track would be amazing.
Still though I'll be there on Saturday, hopefully the prep isn't too horrendous.

I live less than 3 miles away, I can't help but head out there and give it a shot. But I agree, every year I vow to never return again. But I want to make a full 1/4 pass again so badly. I love how we all say its the worst ever and still keep going back.....
I may just ride up there and watch first and see if its worth running. During Drag and Brag it attracts too many cars on street tires to be very good, maybe the test and tune will be different.
Does Pageland hook that hard? I've never been down there, one of my buddies keeps trying to get me to go and I just haven't had a chance yet

Pageland is the best bro. I cut mid 1.5s down there with 275/40/17 ET streets(radials) flashing off the line(stock 3.15 gears/susp). I've ran at ****tyside, Mooresville, Zmax, and Pageland over the years(yea never been to Rockingham) and I hate going to any track besides Pageland.

Looks like a short trip is in order. I can hit mid 1.5x's at Mooresville but no matter what I almost always turn the tires over a few too many times, I wonder what I can muster up down there...

They run on what, Friday night?
Saturdays 12-4 PM. Fridays 6-10 starting on March 18th. I find the track is usually better on Saturdays especially when the summer kicks in. All the street tire cars start going out there on Friday nights and you know how they'll ruin a track real quick lol.
