Technically you bolt on a magna charger lol
Because if you're honest and you openly admit that you have aftermarket rockers (even if they're stock ratio) your submission is going on the 'modified internals' (cammed and heads/cammed cars) lists and NOT on the bolt on lists with the rest of us who have followed the accepted definitions that have been universally accepted and adhered to for roughly 14+ years now.
In the LSx world, if it (intentionally, by design) touches engine oil or is not a naturally aspirated mod (such as nitrous, turbo, blower) then it is not a bolt on.
Not exactly sure what cost has to do with anything, a good set of rockers can cost more than a basic nitrous kit installed, I suppose that makes nitrous a bolt on as well?
A new FAST intake with 90mm or 102mm throttle body costs WAY more than rockers, does that mean they're NOT bolt ons?
These debates almost never end well. But if you'd like, take a poll among those who modify/race their LSx cars in accordance with certain established internet guidelines and see what they say.
Next we'll be hearing about how having a supercharger is really no different than having a cold air intake.

I could agree with that definition

The LSX world IS certainly different than the previous 100 years of molding engines for HP
I believe u selectively left out the rest of my verbage that was clearly stating what IMO are benefits of bolting on
a set of larger ratio rockers. I was merely making a suggestion to the OP for a dyno # comparison. He never stated that his terminology of "bolt ons" was based on the "LSX world racing classification rules, regulations, and terminology"
thanks for your input
Absolutly!! They are not considered bolt ons cause they are too expensive
and had u read the first post on this thread you would have seen that he already has those parts to install. I suggested bolting on (oops)
a set of 1.8 rockers to see the #s and I have to defend myself to you? Maybe If u had read the thread you wouldn't have been so confused..

Well I certainly don't want that, maybe we should forget my suggestion of testing rockers

I'd still like an update on this tho

Btw a test on rockers would still be good, regardless if it's considered a bolt on or not
But numerous others on this board do care to post their results in a semi orderly manner in somewhat organized categories.
Then I'll assume that you feel that rear differential gears, a clutch or a torque converter aren't bolt ons either?
In time you will find that credibility is VERY important when attempting to contribute to threads in the tech/performance sections of these boards. Statements like that above are doing very little to prove that you have much of it, on this particular topic at least.
But hey, everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Typically, rockers have shown as little as 5rwhp and as much as 20rwhp depending on the type used and the vehicle's other supporting mods.
They do serve similar functions though which makes sense considering that they're both internal engine modifications that do touch engine oil.
Id guess its gotta be over 340rwhp now, I felt a very nice pick up with the vararam. Hell I was running a dirty k&n as my intake source. So having that ls6, headers and full exhaust really was dying for more air flow. I figure 3-5rwhp from the UD pulley going on.

You truly believe that a FAST intake manifold and/or throttle body are NOT considered bolt on modifications?
Then I'll assume that you feel that rear differential gears, a clutch or a torque converter aren't bolt ons either?
It's funny that because I suggested testing weather or not a higher ratio rocker setup my "credibility" came into question.. Enough of this, back to your regular scheduled program
