Default New Tires???...haha

I wanted to get a base reading for how it sits. I know that some will ream me because of my times, BUT, I want you to know that 1st of all, I have the Nitto R2's which is great for cornering but not so good for the straight line. and 2nd, it's only my 1st time out in this SC car. (3 runs only). 3rd, very poor burnout, I tried but failed, it revved to high, almost 7000 rpm's, backed off and then it started moving sideways. I Need practice.... I keep backing out of it trying to keep it around 5000 rpm's, and then losing the spin. I'll get the hang of it. I only go to the track after I do something to the car..... 3 times since 2007.... I know, more practice..... Anyway, I was happy with the speed, Not happy with the ET's.... 11.80's at 124 MPH. The ET showing wasn't mine, I had to dial in with 'No ET' on the window because of no rollcage, also, reaction times were horrible, I didn't know that I would get the Pro Tree so I had a .7 and a .5, I thought that something malfunctioned...haha but it was only me..... Now, what are you thinking? Mickey Thompson Drag Radials?? I don't care about milage,I ain't no good on burnouts and I have an automatic....see profile. Don't want slicks and don't want to change tires at the track, what's in the garage drives to the track and back... what do I need and what do you think it will do??? Thanks guys.....

On this run, I gave it 1/3 throttle to start, then when I applied the gas, it started to spin, backpeddled, gave it more, it shifted to 2nd, and you can't tell from this angle, but it went a little squirrelly, (spelling?) sideways enough to scare me, but it was over so fast that I just kept it going. Each run I had to back out of at 1 point or another.... and where last years 60 foot times with the same tires were 1.80, this time it was 2.10, only had 3 tries before the rain....

Lots of guys with autos use MT 275/40/17 and have very good success with them. Did you hit the limiter on the 1-2 shift?

The MT are a tire you can drive on all the time, so no worries there.

Nice job, but you should get to the track more often... LOL

I would like to use the wheels I have on the car, 10 1/2x18...and
Yes, I hit the limiter. when I viewed the clip in slo-mo, I could see that it jumped a little sideways when it hit 2nd, (real fast), I tried to start out slow but it started spinning, I back-pedalled, hit it again, it started spinning again, hit rev-limiter, then it hit 2nd, jumped a little bit sideways, just enough to scare me, then I kept it down to the end. I was happy with the 124 mph tho..... and you're right, I need practice at the track....badly.....haha

Capthuff,
what do u think I would run with the current setup? last year with the same tires, I had a 1.80 60ft time. with the sc, i could do no better than 2.06.... i could only get 3 runs in b4 rain. 373 gears and 2800 stall converter doesn't help with the sc= more spin. lg longtubes into hi-flo cats into borla stingers.....505 rwhp= what ET? did 124.31mph but only 11.833= slipslidinaway....Thanks Huff.

Just wanted to bump it up a little to see what you guys think I will run, (ET), when I get 305/35/18 MT ET Drag Radials?? are MT ET Streets the same as MT Drag Radials? I hear people talk about these two tires and was wondering if they are the same thing....Thanks guys

bias on front and dr or bias in back okay. do not put RADIAL ON FRONT AND BIAS ON REAR YOU COULD GET SQUIRRELLY. the 305 is a heavy tire and will require a fairly heavy wheel but might not mean a lot with s/.c car. you get more rubber on the ground for sure. i run 255x50x16 and go consistent low 1.4's n/a. 505rw should easily get you 10 sec pass if you hook you cook. you'll need a low mid 1.5 60 ft. to get it
