Its not mad at all. Its broken. Ughhh sorry. Hope you find yourself a C6z06 rear. It seems to be the most affordable solution to the C5 rear end.

This is a common problem with the C5 diff. There are several factors that contribute to this problem such as too much power, wheel hop, etc. As stated in the previous post, the C6 Z06 diff conversion is the solution. I broke several C5 diffs but since switching to the C6 Z06 diff, I have had absolutely no problems.

Ouch Brandon! I've broke alot of diff parts over the last few years, but never broke the housing. Agree with others that the C6 conversion is probably going to be the way to go.

Looking into the C6 Z conversion. Just hope it doesn't break the bank.

Sorry to hear, seen it happen many of times even with the brace. C6Z diff is the answer with a stick and will pay for itself if you plan on drag racing hard a lot with a stick

Sometimes rarely you can find the magic pumpkins new for under 2K. They can be tough to track down. But do your research pick your poison as there are a couple transmission options you can go with t56/tr6060 in the manual config. RKT56.com builds my trans and rear ends and usually has rebuilds in stock ready.

You can easily spend over $1,600 on an existing C5 diff with all the upgrade parts but won't hold the power that C6 Z06 diff can take. But going with the C6 Z06 diff in a C5, you also need:

-C6 rear cradle/lower control arms/rear spring (if you have coil overs, you only need the rear cradle)
-Phadt offset mounts
-Replace the existing 27 spline from your T56 to 30 spline to match the diff
-Modify the exhaust over the axles

It's usually $6,000 in parts/labor for this conversion, not including installation. That's with new C6 Z06 diff with all the fluid pump removed ready to install.

Ya, broke the output shaft from the trans as well. Everything inside the diff was destroyed. At least my half shafts were ok. I was using 26x11.50x17 et streets. I leave from around 5-6K. lol 6-speed. I just put it back the least expensive way.....which was they way it was. Staying away from the track for awhile.

I'm with you man....(staying away from the track)..

I broke my tranny, $3000 to rebuild/upgrade.... then back to the track again and broke PS idler pulley/bracket assy- slinging the belt, leaving me stranded at the track... This prompted a complete revamp of my blower drive stuff.....$1000.... So back to the track we go and guess what? Broke the RH output shaft in my DTE stg 2 rear end on the 3rd pass....So I had EG pull the rear and ship it to DTE, spent $1600 to repair/rebuild it ( we had spent $2500 on this rear back in 07)...I still havent got it back in yet...

So 3 trips to the track, 3 times broken, 3 wrecker rides home and about $6000 worth of repairs, all since Aug.....I am DAMN SURE not taking the Z06 to the track anymore...

But my 71' is going tomorrow night...

I would love to do a C6 Z06 or a C6 ZR1 diff swap, but the cost is waaay out of range. I will be upgrading my C5 diff (possibly to a 3 rib C5 model) with C6 Z06 internals, 300m output shafts, the ECS trans/diff brace, Pfadt trans mount, and ECS half shaft loops. I have been told that this will hold 600rwhp (when I swap my heads/intake/tb I will be around 500rwhp) with sticky tires as long as I don't launch like an idiot. Can't get too crazy with the car, since it is my DD.
