Default Will this tire combo work?

I've got 275/40/17's on the front but I found a good deal on some new rears. Right now i have 295/35/18 on back but the new tires will be 295/30/18. Will there be any effect from the gap in profile front and rear? anyone run the same size combo..Michelin Pilot Sports at a great price so i want to make sure before i pull the trigger

Uh, that's going to be way off.

No explanation? I didn't think a very slightly lower profile than I run now would have an effect.

I measured mine and here are the results, of course these are "worn" tire heights.

Hope this helps:

standard front - 275/40/17's = 24.5"

street slick - 295/35/18/s = 25.5 (i run these with NO pressure sensor) but have no issues with traction control reducing power because of the difference in height

standard rear - 285/40/18/s = 26.25

295/30/18's = ? (might be pushing it ...)

Well the problem is you want some rake in the car front to back not only for looks but also for handling. If you go 295/30 & 275/40 on 18's and 17's respectfully, you are going to loose the advantage of the rake.
