Default Good progress!

I have been working on the tune, fixing a bunch of little things. Looking a delivered torque and looking for trends. So made some changes to the timing, removed burst knock, and CTD reworked the MAF curve. Trying to get the AF consistant from the hit to the traps.
Also put the TR6 plugs in.
Temps mid 60's, no clue on the DA as usual.

Unfortunately the MAF tweaks went too lean. So it is clearly very touchy. Still went 1.63 60ft 11.24 @ 121.4. Car dead hooked.

Put the old MAF curve in, car went back to 12.2 AF, but was better through 2nd gear and still lean in low. 11.23 @ 121.7. Another dead hook.

Then I began tweaking the timing down low....it liked it!
1.59 60ft 11.16 @ 122.2 Another dead hook.

Added 2 degrees timing at the torque peak, it liked it some more.
1.599 60ft....it spun. 11.15 @ 122.4. And the crowd went wild! Well, ok, I did.

Called it a night, I have a lot of great data to look at.

Thanks again CTD for the help and the Ron Track Dyno config file. You will turn me into a TUNA yet!

Going back tomorrow, weather should be the same.....maybe an "O"???

BTW....this is still MAF only. I am close to adding VE back in and I really think it will fix the leanness in low gear, and maybe that will pick up the 60ft further. More will be revealed.

Oh, and how about a harrumph for the baby 245/45/17 Hoosiers!

Fun stuff.

Ron

NICE Ron!!

You are widdling it down. I told you 5 months ago that your combo had 10s in it.. As usual it is elusive but you are getting it there.

Keep at it..

That car in Houston in March would be running 10.90@124 right now as it sits..

I look forward to seeing your progress buddy!

Thanks guys.
Alan, I'm sure you are correct, I probably won't get to Houston though.

Tonight was crowded and I was sharing a helmet with my son. So only got 3 passes. It didn't cool off like it did last evening, so IAT was 3-6 degrees higher. I know this makes a difference.

CTD now has the MAF curve very good. Following comanded AFR near perfect in 2nd and 3rd. It is comanded at 12.5:1

The car never spun. Here is the best pass.

1.589
7.125 @ 97.57
11.154 @ 122.26

If it would just leave a bit harder.....I was leaving at 1500
really need to get my kid his own helmet, I didn't get to tune anything.

Weather looks good for next weekend too!

Ron

The software says 6400. But it shifts at 6600. I had help with that, it is a part of the tuning I have not mastered at all. I'm not sure anyone has......
1-2 speed is 43 and the 2-3 speed is set to 80.
by the logs, 1-2 is at 46mph and 2-3 is at 87mph.

That help?

Ron
