That's really good to pick up 30rwhp with basically just a intake change. the filter change is usually 5-7whp and cat back around 5-8whp. I've seen 8-10rwhp from the ZO6 intake, but usually when the car had other mods to need the extra flow.
However, maybe there was an issue with the initial run because 287rwhp is on the low side for stock
Ill agree get some longtube headers but be warned with those Corsa's it will be insainely loud. Just ask my Neighbors
Did you put the headers on after the exhaust? I have the Corsa Xtremes and IMO it's still not close to loud enough, will the headers add volume or just change the type of sound?
Headers are not "budget". The only budget headers with cats are the xspower ones and they are not available. Otherwise, have fun spending $1400-$1700.
The best budget exhaust that will give you 20+ rwhp is putting on C6Z exhaust manifolds.
Here is an excellent write up. They will make close to what headers give you. Very well engineered manifold from GM. You can find them for $300-$400 manifolds, cats, and the entire midpipe. All you'd need to do is adapt the 3" z06 midpipe to your 2.5" exhaust by cutting, putting an adapter on, and splicing the end of your stock midpipe into the 3". It's easy. Besides that, there are just a couple other tight areas you may or may not have to address, but the manifold will bolt directly to your heads. You can splice in air tube fittings, but I just left mine off.
I actually went from catless headers to this setup and I like it better. I will keep this setup for when I go FI too. We put them on my Dad's car too and I tuned it. HUGE sotp improvement. Went from dead hooking 1st to going completely sideways punching it. Very impressive for a couple hundred bucks.

I did not do headers, just the mods listed in my first post. Car has 145,000 miles so its no spring chicken.
I actually think its running rich. I threw some codes the other day and I believe it was running rich. I will be getting it retuned soon to hopefully correct those issues. The shop I go to may not have done the best tune...
