I recently installed a set of Lt headers and gutted cats on stock Hpipe on my 98 C5.
Ever since, it sounds like car is gurgling or running inefficient...almost like a hollow bubbling resonance.
I am planning on getting the car tuned soon but was wondering if this will take care of this odd sound. I did read that some of this kind of sound is due to the factory hpipe. It wasn't there before the swap though
Any tuning will help, it's your wallet it will hurt, IF you plan on doing more mods.
There are tuning changes you can make that will help a stock car, but other than that, there's not much to "correct" until you add some mods that really change the efficiency of the engine, and thus, the AFR. Cams and heads make big changes in the engines VE tables, and intake changes upset the MAF, so these are some of the things you would need to correct with a tune, in order to keep your PE correct and making good power
Bottom line; If follow up changes to your tune are free, go far it, if not, and you plan to do more mods, wait.
but thats what im asking. so the H-pipe IS whats causing that noise? i wasnt planning on getting one if it had something to do with the car not being tuned
I guess I didn't ask my question very well I apologize.
I'm wondering if the odd sound the car is making is due to the new headers, stock h-pipe, and lack of tune.
At this point I am not asking about power just the sound

From my experience the gutted cats tend to cause a hollow "tin can" sound. And it seems the LT headers magnify this trend.
I can't speak to your sound, but to imply that headers don't alter the way the motor runs is just dead wrong. You will get a kick in the pants after a tune, it'll not only bring your AFRs back in line but also undo any burst knock retard you might be currently experiencing with the increased airflow the engine is now seeing.
