Well went and got some baseline runs after being out of the racing scene for about 4years. Lots of room for improvement but that will come with seat time. Best time was 13.41 @ 107.53 and a 2.15 60 foot
still learning to launch with the six speed off the lights
I will upload YouTube link later 👍🏼
What are some of ya'lls times ? And I want to put a sticky tire on it, what are ya'll running ? I'm thinking about a Hoosier slick
You should be able to get a sub 2.0 second 60' time on a regular street/radial tire with a little practice. I've gotten as good as a 1.80 60' time on a set of stock Goodyears. You should be able to get a very bottom 13.xx run with that MPH, possibly even a high 12.xx with good air and track prep along with some good driving. I say to get some more practice before changing things up. At stock power levels short of just launching off the limiter or bad wheel hop you shouldn't have to worry much about breaking things even if you choose to go with a stickier tire. I wouldn't go with a slick (unless you have a dedicated set of wheels to put them on), plenty of great drag radial options out there.
Mine is a 2000 C5 FRC with the 6Speed Manual. Only Mods are LG Longtubes, and a Vararam. NO TUNE (yet)... I 've run at best a bunch of 12.8's, 12.9's and a 12.68 @ 112 on a 1.9 60' with air'd down Nitto Invo's. I'm hoping with a tune, and LS6 intake to run a 12.5
After that I plan to run a set of Frankenstein 241 heads and a mild cam...hopefully enough for an 11.9 on slicks.

Thats awesome! yeah I just picked up a set of TSP stainless long tubes and 3' O/R X-Pipe kit for $290 I'm going to put on the car with B&B cat backs. Also found out my car already has an LS6 intake on it so that was a big plus. Going to do a cam kit, upgraded oil pump, oil catch can, CAI, port and polish my stock 241's then a tune in the next few months while the tracks are closed. Really curious to see how it does when I'm all done with it and with a good set of wheels (drag radials and skinnies) and line lock kit installed. Im sure theres plenty left in my car stock as it is i just need more seat time with the manual.

After fixing the MAF sensor, my 2000 auto ran 13.05@107.
As purchased it had a Vararam and Borla catback. Otherwise stock.
I did more than a few winter upgrades that year and came back and ran 11.40. Then rubbed on the tune while I was learning to tune it myself and finally got it to 10.99.
Met my goal and moved on to my 5.3 turbo Nova. So haven’t raced the C5 much. I just drive it.
Have fun man. It’s a slippery slope chasing ET’s. Esp with a stick

I went 13.31@106 with a 6 speed and I was not a good driver at all. I think the 60' was in the low 2.0's. Take my advice, you are more likely to blow up your rear with street tires than sticky tires. Ask me how I know. I would NEVER run another c5 c6 or c7 on street tires again unless it was an auto. Wheel hop will end things very quickly. Good luck with the car, you will get addicted
