Help me finish my heads cam
Ive been running a cartek 3x cam, halltech cai, bb bullet cat back and made 387rwhp with 241 heads not ported with a ls1 intake manifold. I was thinking about trying to find a used set of cartek 3x or 4x heads. Some catless cooks long tubes. And was thinking about the all aluninum ls high rise intake manifold. Are guys using this for boost only or do you think it will help me get to my 475rwhp goal? I might do a hundred shot in the future. And if i cant find used cartek heads whats the next route to maximize my flow from the cam?

Grab some better heads than the 241s....ported 243s or aftermarket and a fast intake manifold. You are gonna need longtubes as well. Don't forget you'll need a throttle body and Injectors as well as a few other supporting mods.

Yea i would love the harrop itb's or a fast as a backup. I have to figure if i want 1 34 or 17/8 headers. Wich set of heads i could do for under 3000. I have all the hardware that came with my cam for it to work with the 241s

1 3/4 is more than sufficient and will help a little tq wise. Since you have to buy new heads anyways you could do a TFS 220 as fast or something. Or buy some ported 243s from a vendor. If you have some miles on those valvesprings I'd just buy new ones anyways for longevity. You could do a fast 92 and ls2tb to save some money.

If you are interested in a Harrop ITB for cathedral port heads, my other buddy robz still has his that he ran on his 388. Probably get a good deal on it.

If you cannot locate the Cartek heads you are looking for, here is my buddy who did the work during his tenure with them.

i think as how cool they are i wouldnt be able to take full advantage of the itbs with my 3x cam. Looks like i cant go wrong with a f.a.s.t intake. Some properly ported heads and headers. Hopefully that will take me over 450rwhp.
