Honestly I feel like it's ignorant to try and say it's not...
Still utilizes stock C5 Corvette suspension design...
Still utilizes stock C5 Corvette driveline design (including a 3 rib diff case and t56!)...
Still utilizes stock C5 Corvette chassis design...
Sure it has coilovers, but does that mean my car is no longer a Corvette? Sure the driveline is built to hell, but does that mean my car is no longer a Corvette?
The logic by the haters is absolutely insane... Who cares if it doesn't have a body on it? Any advantage he gained in weight, is severely hindered by the aerodynamic disaster the car has become as proven in his wind tunnel video.
People need to get over it... It's still a Corvette.

I agree. Leroy is stupid and just a marketing gimick. It has a **** ton of money dumped into it from sponsors because his channel is so popular, thats the only reason its as fast as it is.
Its not a c5 corvette anymore, its based on a corvette.

So whats the difference between a GMC sierra and A Chevy Silverado? Whats the difference between a Camaro and a Firebird? Saab 9x7(or whatever it is) and a Trailblazer SS?The BODY PANELS and a few interiors pieces other than that they are the same. So yes, body panels make the car what it is.

So according to a few of you guys, if I don't consider Leroy a C5 I am a hater/envious? But what if I appreciate and respect the work done to the car but choose not to call it a C5 for whatever reasons?
Yes it has a C5 frame, suspension and a variation on the original drivetrain but aside from that there isn't any C5 left. The Factory Five GTM uses a lot of C5 components but we don't call that a C5, do we?

Big fan of Leroy and the channel but another NO vote.
We all know that Leroy started life as a C5 and utilizes the Chassis/Suspension/Transmission/etc, but it just wouldn't be right to allow him to lay claim to any C5 or Corvette records. It is an unregistered, bodiless, off-road race car now.
