My Red C5 Build Thread
The day I bought the car I didn't take it home that day, but contract is signed and mine.

I bought this C5 about 3 months ago. This car will be a budget build with track-days in mind
Since buying it I have done the following:
new belts and large hoses
Replaced coolant and power steering fluid.
upgraded to steel brake hoses
Bled out clutch and brakes with Pentosyn Dot4+ fluid
Lowered to car one inch on the stock springs
Added Stienjager sway bars
Upgraded front brakes to:
Power stop front rotors and X26 brake pads

Key Take-Aways from the Track Day
The motor ran great. I dialed in all the shifting points. Everything worked fine.
The brakes were great no fade or boil at all.
The stock seats are not helping at all. It was all I could do to stay in front of the steering wheel.
Steering wheel was too big for me, it was bus size.
the car pushed really bad and that would set-off the primitive traction control and the throttle would go on time-out.
So this weekend:
I picked up these parts:
2 new Amazon reclining seats that will hold me in better $280 Plus some $90 brackets
I bought a MOMO 350mm steering wheel and a disconnect set of parts from NRG to get a better ergonomics in the steering department. About $500 after all the parts purchased. Kind of expensive but I love the Momo. Oh well.
I will be installing those end of the month....
Next up is new wheels and tires more suited to the track. Like I said , the car pushes badly with the current setup on the base wheels. I am running Kumo Ecasta MX, they look pretty new. But they feel really slippery. Tempeture was between 40 and 50 all day so maybe not enough warmth to keep them happy.
Also I bought an ebay longtube header and will install it with a billy boat catback or maybe a cheaper alternative if I can find one.
I am soliciting Tire and wheel recommendations for this summer season in Florida. (Note Florida hot and sometimes rainy)
