What does a Header do that adds performance?
I have a GHL Bullet cat back and love the sound, but do NOT want any louder. Will a set of headers make my system louder?
If I did get headers, can I continue to use my current H pipe and cat backs, or will I need to get an x pipe?
If I am looking for more SOTP torque, would I be better to swap my 3:15's for 3:42's, rather then putting $ into a header system? It's an A4 BTW.
Also, if I where to get a dyno tune, will my dealer UN-DO my tune, every time they work on my car? It's an 04 BTW.
LT headers made my car quieter at idle, but louder at WOT.
You can retain your current H-pipe and catback. You can also replace the H-pipe with a X-pipe for better sound and a very minimal power increase.
3.42's may give more of a SOTP feeling.
The dealer shouldn't undo your tune unless there's something wrong with the car that they'd have to reflash the PCM.
