The hardest part is the fog lights, they are a bear. Keep close track of all the fasteners as you take them off it can be confusing. I also recommend taking a pic of your intake before you disassemble it that way you can use it as a referance as you start to button things up. good luck it took my cousing and I about 6 hours and it was tedious but not rocket science.
A friend of mine with an auto 04 vette went to the track after installing it, and proved that you actually lose 3 to 4 10ths off your 1/4mile time. he is a shop owner up north (www.precisiontuning.com) and knows his stuff. if he says it works, it will definately be under the hood of my car.
I have to question this as , We race a team of 3 race vehicles, 1 a bolt-on only C5 and 2 rear engine alcohol dragsters.
The only way this guy lost ET is if the coupler was loose or his tuning that far off.
All the cold air induction mods show excellent results but in real on track testing with DA and fuel levels listed (do a search in the archives for the thread) we found the Vararam to exceed all we have tried in ET improvment. I also agree with others here that we saw most improvment down track when our MPH was over 50.
On the install we completed it in app 2 hours with 2 crew and all tools needed. No problems with any part other than I had to get a new shroud to replace the cut one from the Breathless unit.

If someone installed a vararam 1 or 2 and lost time in the qtr something is wrong with the vehicle. I would guess something else caused this not the vararam. I really can not see just this bolt on effecting tuning enough to cause it to lose power either. For the thread starter you should know this thing has a very sound engineering concept and I have personally used it and it works. Please email me with any questions I would hate to see you lose out on a very good bolt on due to misimformation.
I went froma backwing and a Heads and cam motor with 414 rwhp and ran a best of 12.6 @ 112
New setup Vararam with a new heads and cam 449 rwhp and ran
a best of 12.5 @ 115
I dont think it is as good as it advertises.
does a vararam really work or is it just another hyped up product
any advice well taken
if theres something better feel free to suggest
gmosley,
According to our dyno testing/tuning sessions, there wasn't another intake that performed like the Vararam, PERIOD! The Vararam provided more rear wheel horsepower and torque over any other aftermarket intake system and kept the MAF intake temp readings 20 degrees cooler which makes the car run even stronger and more efficient.
We recommend the Vararam systems very strongly and have installed a ton of them so far. The installation is the only challenge, but once you get it on, get ready to have fun!
