Gear ratio question
I'm not sure what my 99 FRC came with stock but how would a 3.90 affect HP on a dyno?My 99 FRC has a 3.90 gear and dynoes @ 415 RWHP and I want to know if it had the stock gear in it what would it dyno at?I purchased my car already modded and I know it dynoed at 425 w/stck gear and Ls1 heads.It now has Ls6 heads and the gear and dynoes 9 RWHP less.I know the car is faster now than before but what gives!!

You will get a lower dyno reading with a higher numerical gear ratio. The loss of about 10+ HP on the dyno is about right when you go from a 3.42 to a 3.90 rear. The lower dyno reading does not mean that you have actually lost power. It's just that the dyno is giving you a lower reading because of your gear ratio.
