Dyno Information

I have a 2002 convt 6sp and I would like to get it on a dyno. I have never had this done before and I really don't want to go into this looking like a compleat fool.I have had some small mods done to my car ie cat back exhaust, throttle body, MAF, air bridge,Vortex Rammer. What should I expect when I do this, what extras should I have the tuners preform(if anything). How should I prepare the car what questions will they throw at me and what can I expect to pay (average)???? Thanks for you're time...

For just a few basic dyno pulls expect to spend $50-75. A dyno tune, on the other hand, will be in the $500 range. 290-310 rwhp would be the norm for your mods.

Dyno runs generate a lot of heat. Make sure your oil is full and also your coolant. Other then that, not much to prepare. If you do dyno, I would be very interested in your graphs. I found my 02 had a ton of knock retard starting at 4,200 RPM. The tuner also had an 02, and plotted his stock curve on mine and they matched almost perfectly, with the same knock retard.

With an air/fuel read out, you will probably pay a ballpark of 20-30 a run...Im going to guess you will be around 310-320rwhp on your dyno assuming you do it on a dynojet which is no load. A mustang dyno is going to be about 10-15% less, but it shows you your true numbers on the street under load. Good luck!
