c5 vs r1
It's a blown 900hp Viper GTS square up against 3 Hayabusa's of varying amount of mods. The first one they race is box stock. They don't do it from a stop, but from varying roll-on speeds (which according to guys should be to a car's advantage.

From watching you'll notice that the stock Busa holds it's own just fine, and the other 2 modded ones pretty much school the Viper.
Consider the following specs on a Busa:
Claimed Peak Horspower: 172.6 hp @ 9800 rpm
Measured Peak Horsepower: 158 hp @ 9750 rpm
Claimed Dry Weight: 474 lbs (215 kg)
Measured Wet Weight: 540 lbs (245 kg)
and then those of a 2002 R1 for example:
Claimed Weight: 437 lb. (198kg) wet (approx.)
Measured Peak Horsepower: 136.3 hp @ 10,750 rpm
You can draw your own conclusions from this information. But consider this, recently Cycle World did their 600cc Sportbike shootout and brought AMA Prostar dragracer Ricky Gadsen, and he ripped an amazing 9.93@135mph pass down the 1/4 mile on a bone stock Yamaha R6 (the ride height was rather severely lowered, but still box stock). First time a stock 600 has ever pulled off this feat.

So yeah, I'd have to think that the rider/driver has alot more to do with the equation than some of you guys might want to admit.
