After retiring from the USAF my hobby of photographing wildlife turned into a full time job which subsequently ended when we departed Alaska in 2013. The photograph of the wolf in a snow storm requires explaining. It was snowing like crazy and this wolf stopped to stare at me for about 15 seconds. Then he shook himself like a dog does when it is wet creating this slurry of snow all around him. As a final gesture he stuck out his tongue trying to catch the snow as it fell to the ground. It was my best selling animal image for 20 years. All of these were taken on film before digital was popular.
This image started my career and took a week to capture at Katmai National Park
Three bull caribou cruising Denali National Park
Classic eagle bust with a look saying..."you owe me money"
Really great photos... I love the look on the eagle!

Great wildlife photos can so often take so much planning. I've really enjoyed what I've learned about animal behavior while walking around with a camera trying to capture images.
I was lucky a few years ago having nesting white-tailed kites living around my house. Many hours camped-out watching and shooting resulted in great times and lots of great photos. This is one of my favorites... an adult (right) passing a vole, mid-air, to a juvenile (left, with the brown plumage).

Great pics snowolfe. Got any moose from the Koyukuk?
Just dead ones, lol. We ran our river boat from the haul road launch down the Yukon, up the Koyukuk, and then split off on the Huslia and went about another 4-5 hours to hunt. Took a little over 2 days on the water to get to camp. Fantastic adventure. Last trip took my son with me and he scored a nice bull and a black bear on same trip.
I do have some from Denali Park, will post one when I get caught up in the workshop
