Popped down to Titusville to capture the launch and to test out a Tamron 150-600. I don't think i will use the lens, it has too many issues.
Anyway, to shoot a rocket, the suggestion for daylight it shutter 1600, F8 ISO 200. it should be dark, because the flame is so bright. so I'm waiting for where I THINK the rocket is. there is another rocket on a different gantry further south, no idea what it is. anyway, I completely forgot to account for a doubler, so I'm another 2 stops low. wide open, on a full frame Nikon, I got vignetting. and you can see there are spots all over and a big haze circle. I washed it up a bit, and if I plan better I can lose the doubler and use the TTarisan for the next launch.
little black spots all over and in the left third there is a large circle that is apparent. I really need to shoot it without the doubler to see how pronounced they are. Maybe tomorrow I'll get up early and head go to the bozard lake for some birding
nope. it's the new camera and the first thing i did was clean it and you can see the stuff in the lens. not a big deal. I can sell it for almost what i paid for it anyway and upgrade to an new unit. until then i can use it and the manual 500. won't have another opportunity till april 21 anyway.
