I have NO idea but am guessing it will be just a red hair under 500 hp (496) with around 450 lb·ft.

Should be somewhere between 480-520 HP. Not going out on a limb on this one.

I'm guessing lighter weight like 3000ish curb weight and a disappointing 450ish whp and torque, good on gas though. Will still be very fast. 500+ reserved for C7 Z06. Don't give GM too much credit now lol.

450whp is disappointing?!? Yeah ok.

It totally depends on if its a 5.5 or 6.2. Look at the viper rumours, was tons of talk of a 8.7L and look what happened. Bit of a bump in hp but what seems like a much better car overall(still don't like looks of it myself, but as a package it's cool).

Tons on here are eating that car up, will only a 40hp bump. Will everyone really be disappointed with, say, a 475hp, top to bottom revamped vette?

People NEED to consider the fact that the power numbers don't mean anything until we know the weight of the car as well. If they dropped 200lbs out of the base car somehow, you might as well consider that hp as well...

Does anyone know the relative weight of the LS3 engine equipped as it sits in the C6? I suspect we will see a significantly (20-50 lbs) lighter engine than the LS3.

450 is not disappointing, what I meant was people here speculating 480-520 hp for the base model will be disappointed. Look at the past, the base model has not been faster than the previous generation's z06 or at least not decisively faster.

It's a new era along with the fact Chevy is in a HP race with Ford right now. Also the C7 is very important to GM's image which has suffered quite a bit as of late.

I'm betting the C7's numbers will be very close if not better than the C6 ZO6 in every area.

I would trade a significant weight loss with some HP.

Okay, I'll go out on a limb with my guess, just to put it out there with all you brave souls.

Absolutely no hard numbers given out whatsoever. Official confirmation of the 7-speed manual that everybody knows anyway. Probably confirmation of the number of cylinders. Everything else will be qualitative terms like "lighter, more powerful, more efficient."

We'll see!

Probably will get weight loss & more HP. It has to be at least 480 HP. Public perception & HP numbers sell cars.
