Hello, im a new member here and i just bought a 06 Z06, i would like to know
The service history for the car, i was told that theres a VIS that can be checked, does anyone knows where i can check this other than dealer?
The car got exported and local gm dealer cant verify this.
The VIS Report will give all the RPO codes, so if it is an import, that code will show it as such.
Your GM dealer can run the VIS for free. Get him to do it. All he has to do is put in the VIN #. It doesn't matter where the car came from to run a VIS Report.
You can contact Gene at Cultrag Performance. He may be able to get you a VIS Report and send it to your e-mail. gene@cultragperformance.com
Good Luck
Thanks for the reply but i think i got it wrong, what i need is the report of the maintence records etc and what was done to the car, is there any way to check this?

The VIS Report will also show you all the maintenance performed at any GM dealer. It also shows you the TSB's and recalls that were done, and any outstanding ones.
The VIS can give you either or both, vehicle build info and/or claim history.
Post 2 in here is an EXAMPLE of a Claim History printout. Note that the lines aren't arranged correctly due to the copy-paste process. So you have to read it and section it in your mind. Or you could copy and paste it into a Word doc or similar and fix the line arrangement:
VIS only indicates warranty work that has been done to car, i.e., not any maintenance work. Carfax might show maintenance work done at a dealership, but not any non-dealership work.
Most corvette owners do there own maintenance anyway, at the very least change there own oil.
That's an exaggeration.
Most do not change their own oil. Perhaps, a higher percentage of Corvette owners change their own oil than, say, Focus or Prius drivers do, but I doubt that even most of the posters here change their own oil. Let alone the average Corvette driver who has never even cared enough to ask a question about their car. Which is the vast majority of Corvette owners.
I did but dont show maintenance other than putting new tires

thats what im looking for, other than that it shows that my car was 1 owner from new until 19k miles, currently it has 23k when it was exported from FL
I tend to agree w. Yaupon: the VIS report doesn't show maintenance work done at a dealer (obviously it won't show work done outside of a dealer). It shows warranty, TSB, etc. type of work that is required or suggested by GM. The VIS can also show if a car has had some form of denial of a warranty claim---meaning, an owner came in for a claim and the dealer found something had been changed on/in the car such as equipment was added. Finally, the only place to get the VIS report which is free, is from a GM dealer.
