Hi everyone.. This is my first post and first corvette.. I've owed alot of old cars and bikes.. I bought my car with 36k on the odometer from a lady that owed it for 20 years and they only put 5k on it the hole time they opened it.. My question is what is the best assembly manual for the 76. Thanks here's the car when I picked it up.. and the bottom pic 2 days later.. Thanks everyone...Chris
Hi Chris,
Welcome!
First Post!!!!
Car looks like a nice one!
I'm glad you know about the 'Assembly Instruction Manual' (AIM).
There was one for EACH year of production, so you should buy one for 76.
There are various "service" manuals available.
Most people feel that the GM issued '76 Chassis Service Manual' contains the most information. It'll be much more specific than the manuals offered by Chilton and Haynes.
Most of the larger Corvette vendors sell both publications.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
The reprint of my 1977 assembly manual has Millenium Industries in the lower right bottom corner. 99% of the pages are very nice, there are just a couple pages that are very light, but overall very happy with the reprint.
I bought mine years ago from books4cars.com in Seattle.
Agree with Alan, the Chilton/Haynes make great paper weights. Get the AIM and the service manual specific for your year. You will get far more information from those manuals and this forum than you would from the Chilton/Haynes.
Thanks everyone.. I've learned alot about the vette from this forum already.. And thank you Willcox.. Your you tube videos are awesome.. Helped me get my headlights figured out.. I'll mail you today also.. Thanks for the free manual.. That'll help alot..
