Reasons in order of importance to me:

1. Cost
2. Fun to drive (HP mixed with handling)
3. Maintanable by me (weekend wrencher)
4. Interior (I love sitting in the driver seat of my 92)
5. Looks Exterior (Many don't like it but I think they look cool)

My sentiments exactly. I've only owned my '92 for 3 days. Drove it home Monday. Worked all day Tuesday. Worked 1/2 day Wednesday and was able to drive some in the afternoon. I love this car!! I was driving a little "sporty" and love how the traction control kicks in and it really hugs the road when getting on it hard while in a curve. I love the mid range torque. I'm coming from a 400+hp '79 Z-28 but getting onto the hiway from the on ramp yesterday was quite impressive for 300hp. It just kept pulling til I got off of it north of 90mph

I haven't had a ticket in yrs, this is going to be tough.

I think I'm going to love the new rules about breaking the law and intent.

Why were you driving so fast son? Officer, it was not my intent to get caught. Oh ok, you're free to go.

be careful with throttling with curves these stick good but they let go with NO warning and you may not be able to correct quick enough When they do grab may send you headed in a direction you dont want
These arent like other cars that talk to you some and are forgiving found that out the hard way a few times.

x2 The LT1 is so smooth and strong, sometimes it is hard to stay disciplined. And traffic has never been so frustrating, find my self saying "get the F*** out of my way" pretty often. Also never had a speeding ticket my whole life --- not one --- till I got this Corvette.

x2 The short wheelbase makes for excellent handling, but when the back end does break free... the short wheelbase allows the car to swap ends very quickly. Have fun but be safe.

At the time I bought mine (I've had four C4's over the years), I couldn't touch the performance for the price with anything else. I like the body style, the performance is still good, it's fun to drive especially topless, and there's a great community centered around it. And now that it's a "classic", it gets a lot of attention from the younger crowd. Oh, and there's a ton of knowledge out there when I need help, and the parts aren't comparatively expensive.

You could say I’m a C4 fan as I have had three so far. I like the looks, the cockpit and the really well balanced performance. Partial to 95’s (vented Opti, good QC upgrades that year and no OBDII (Illinois doesn’t test 95 and earlier anymore).

Referring to my profile picture, I sold the white and black ones to get a C5 and I lost the purple one in a divorce (and she sold it without giving me a chance to buy it off her $%&*#@!!). I am sadly currently Vetteless but am actively pursuing the purchase of another one. It looks like it’s going to be another C4.

While working a summer in Mesa I notice lots of C3 & C4s around and in the newspapers and got the "bug" to own a Vette.
After siting in a C4 I was sold due to the perfect "fit" to my body.

In 2000 I bought my first 35th Anni and loved it. After it was hit and totaled I bought my current 35th Anni. and still enjoy the "feel" and performance of the car.

Why a C4? It's the Corvette that I grew up with and it's looks are timeless if you ask me. It puts a smile on my face everytime I get behind the wheel.

Fun to mildly mod.

First time Corvette owner here - I've long admired the C4 and impulsively picked up this '96 CE last year. Best decision ever - I'm absolutely in love with the car. I'm seeing more and more C4's on the road via the second-hand market - with prices for pristine examples well below $20k I cannot think of a car that is as fun, fast, and that gets as much attention as the C4.

Pure and simple:
It's an American icon.
It's affordable.
It hugs the road and does what you tell it to do.
It make my wife perky when I hit it hard.
And that big *** smile on my face every time I see, sit in and drive it.
This is my first and I'm having a blast.

I sold my 1983 Z28 after cracking the unibody several times welding it back up and blowing the T5 transmission (and even three Doug Nash 6 speeds with Long shifter). I raced this car and modified the crap out of it, spent a lot of money on it; rollcage, dana 44 rear, aluminum driveshaft, suspension upgrades, ZZ3 crate motor, cam, headers etc. fast car for the day and a lot of fun but it was a parts breaker.
In 1996 I had some money and I went to look at a new Dodge Viper, too expensive for me. Then in December I found two GrandSports sitting on a Chevy dealers lot one with red gut base suspension and the other black gut and Z51 suspension. I fell in love with the color, rims big meats out back, and the Z51 suspension. I took it for a drive and I needed to own that car. I called my friend who worked at a different Chevy dealer and asked him what it would take to get the Black gut Z51 GrandSport, he called me up later on that day and said he can get it and it would be at dealer cost! And get this the car was originally delivered to his dealership in May of 1996, they could not sell it so they swapped it off to the other dealer for a big dually pick up truck with a plow!!
He hooked me up with the car and I got all the original paperwork even the dealership literature about the delivery of the GrandSport and the dealers allocation.
The car always puts a smile on my face and has been a very reliable car considering the way I drive.
Even my dad loved the car, which is one of the reasons I will try and keep it forever (all the cool memories with my dad in the car make the car priceless to me).

Default My C4 was my first

My first Corvette would have been a C1 or C2 but I didn't want to spend the money. So I looked at a C3 but wasn't really happy. Then I decided a C5 would be great. I went to buy one but it was sold by the time I got to it. I was an hour from home and decided to look at a '94 Convertible. Really didn't care for the C4's but what the heck. It was love at first sight. The car was Polo Green with a Tan top and black interior. The car overall seemed pretty nice so I started getting serious. Took it out for a spin and it ran like a deer. When I finally figured out how to get the odometer working I was in for a real shock. The car only had 46,500 miles on it.

It needed some minor fix ups but really was great. To me it appeared like new. I made an offer and it was accepted and I became the proud owner of a C4 Vette.

I have had it now about 4 months. Brought it up to show quality and joined a club. This car is really amazing and fast. Wherever I go I get thumbs up, lots of positive comments and meet lots of Vette owners. I am going on 70 soon and this is my first and probably my last. My youngest son has already laid claim on it when I am no longer driving it. Corvettes in general are great, but the C4's are really the best.

When I was a kid, my Uncle had a silver '68 vert, and I was naturally, in awe of it. Then when I got old enough to learn to drive, I was lucky enough to learn to drive a stick with it. My love of Corvettes was pre-destined!

I was pretty young when the C4 came out, and I was again blown away. The styling was/is outstanding, and has held up remarkably well, imo. To a lot of people, the C4 still looks like a thoroughly modern car and I agree. Plus, performance-wise it put the Corvette back on the map.

I just love Corvettes, period. When I was finally able to get one, my wife told me that I didn't really like Corvettes, but that I only like them because my Uncle had one, my Dad had one, my brother had one (and now my nephew has one!) What's it matter, I told her? If I love them I love them!

So my first Corvette was this 1996 LT4 Collector Edition. I just love this car, but I'm trying to sell it because I've been told that it's not practical to own two Corvettes. What kind of thinking is that??? This Vette has great torque in almost all gears. It keeps up with most of these modern cars in the 300HP range without too much difficulty. I'd keep it if I could, but I guess it's time to move on. If I have the resources in the future, I'd like to buy it back, or one like it.

I love the C4 corvettes because of the style, price and the feel of sitting in the seat knowing you are in a car that was designed for the driver.

I have owned two C4's. My first C4 was a 1990 Steel blue vette

The bottom picture is my son's C4 (quasar blue) and my C6 Grand Sport (Cyber Metallic Gray).

But if you ask me the C4 is more fun to drive..

Because nobody else makes one of these. 😁 Hi Chris. Were you ever in San Jose a few years ago at a Corvette show?
