I have about a 9' clearance in my garage. Plenty of width. I have a 1968 corvette convert. so that helps on height, looking for a lift that will fit my needs for approx 3,600 lbs give or take on fuel etc.
I don't think I will be able to get anything with standup height. The car height is approx. 4'. So I might be able to pull 5' or less to stand under the car.
Anyone have an idea on a lift that might work without breaking the bank.
I have an Atlas lift from Greg Smith. I think I have 9'6" so I can't use the full height of the lift but I can pretty much stand under it. I can get the Vette and the cobra in one side of the garage with it. The lift is all I need. Priced decently also.
You will have to raise your garage door by one panel. If it is a sectional door. Definitely won get to working height, but much better than laying on floor.
The shortest 2-Post standard lift on the market is Mohawk who makes a 2-Post A-7 model that is asymmetric, you would need to run the Hyd. lines in the floor vice the top. Pricey and still a tight fit.
The simplest is the Dannmar MaxJax Portable 2-Post Lift, never seen or tried this setup but it seems to fit the bill for low overhead and the home garage.
Thanks its actually a restomod. When they installed the lift the guys were not sure if it was going to fit on the lift with the garage door open. I clear by height and lenght by less then 2 inches.
Bendpak in my garage. I also have the RJ 45 rolling jack. 10' of ceiling ht, so I can lift the corvette to maximum ht of the lift, 5'10" from the lower edge of cross rail to floor. Its the 9000 lb model. Cost about 3200 delivered, not including the RJ.

Don't want to hijack the thread but I'd love to have one with an LS setup. The only year with the round gauges and to me the best looking body!
I have a beam @ 10'6" which is my limit. Spans the 3 car garage.
What I have done for the single door (where the lift is) is extend and "Raise" the G-Door and opener with track extensions up where the beam is still the limiting factor. When I open the door the G-door goes within 3" of ceiling but in space above beam with G-Door opener. Cost $750
Don't care what lift ya have it's the safety locks and where they engage is what matters. Even w 10'6' the locks never end in a perfect location to maximize space . And be sure to add deck/ frame size to the height calc's
Today I have a 69 Mach1 up top a FGT on bottom and have less than 3" on top and 3" between deck and FGT but the locks are in place. All with a 10'6" limit.
I'll send pics if ya need it but 9' for two cars is risk. Regarding working, I have an old leather roll around office chair I work out of as I cant stand
