I just put my hard top on for the winter a few weeks ago and I am always amazed on how much it changes the feel of the car and driving experience. A C3 with the hard top installed is my favorite look over the soft top and even with the top down. If I had A/C I'd probably leave it on all the time.
Very cool......BUT.....after high school the top on my '69 Camaro went up on rainy days only.....down South the weather never gets cold in the winter........(thunderstorm on the way!)
BUT THEN.........I'm crazy enough to ride a Harley in the rain

Mine has stayed on 99% of the time for the past 42 years. It really does change the feel of the car. But I do like the sound of the exhaust when driving with the top off.
I to love the look when my hard top was on. Not sure if I will ever put it back on. Since the car was just painted. Mine left a light imprint in the paint on my deck lid.
If there was way to solve that issue, I might just for that look again.
The only time my hard top has been on, is when I drove it home from buying it.
At 6' 6" tall any extra head room is appreciated, and necessary.
I admit the hardtop does look good, but the "in the wind" feeling is hard to beat.
A couple days after my ‘69 was delivered from CT, I took the hard top off and stuck it in the garage. It got too spider-webby so I bought a cover for it and tucked it in the basement. Been there ever since.
This thread made me go down and make sure it’s still there.

Back 40 years ago my buddy had a 71 like this only with the vinyl black top, he never took the top off the car. It was a 365hp 4spd with T&T & air. He painted it the same color and sold it for $6k.
I like the vinyl top look and have thought of doing that to keep with my blackout theme. I painted my side grill, rear deck vent grills and front grills black so a black vinyl top would look good on my car IMO. White? Nahaaa
Another thing i find cool about the removable hard top is people who do not know the top comes off and are just blown away,
I had it happen with a pizza delivery guy but my wife tina was the best
She found our 69 and knew convertible was a must for me, the car is delivered and looks better than we hoped but she looks all perplexed worried,
Im all thrilled looking the car over popping hood etc,
And she really looks more upset,
I press hard and she says how sorry she is that i wanted a convertible and its not, shes going on about didnt the ad say convertible,
I am laughing and cut her off, and tell her the top comes off, then when i explain the rag top hides in the back she was so happy and told me no wonder i love vettes with something as cool as this,
