My '19 GS was delivered two months ago and I have put about 1,600 miles on it. I put those flaps on, and had PPF applied to the front half of the area you drew on the quarter, and I have not received any chips.
When doing a paint correction before ceramic coating I noticed some micro abrasions in the top quarter panel you noted. Went with the cleartastic product and couldn’t be happier.
2016 Z07 with full side skirts and gm splash guards front/rear
Thanks but my car has been repainted - ton of base coat but clear coat may not be enough - have to ask painter - have it fixed and have it covered this time before leaving shop - not the best time of year to deal with this - I will see what I can do to repair it - its one on driver side but down to primer there is a good video on YT see if it works cant hurt - with my experience i wont mess it up anymore than it is
Silver is one of the worse colors the heal - if it was straight up colors would be a no brainer

did the same thing to my new at the time 2016. Full skirts acts front and of to the quarters. Not a mark.
result of wider quarters, sticky tires and front fenders curving in at bottom. Many Porsches have same issue. Read those threads.
The widebody C7s (and C6s for that matter) greatly benefit from having the rear quarter panel and brake vent area protected by clear bra. The mudflaps and side skirts help as well - but get the rear quarters covered with PFF. On the C7 it's pretty easy to do as the rear quarter isn't big, nor is the brake vent area in front of it.
Before I picked up my 18 GS MacMulkin warned me about that issue and advised me to put PPF on the quarters.
Had the nose, quarters, rockers, skirts, headlights and mirrors done. Glad I did.
Thanks Guys - have full skirts does not help 100% - lesson learned - going to try YT video trick - touch in paint then let it hardened for 24 hours then I will wet sand it and buff - see what happens - curious - if its good enough for warm weather season ok - if not back it goes - not fun - luv silver but not paint repairs - protection will be added to entire rear 1/4 panels before it leaves

The Z06 and Grand Sport (OK, fine...ZR1 too) are prime candidates for PPF (Xpel, Llumar, 3M, Suntek). All my cars have some protection. Cheap insurance.
