I know they're both amazing. I have a z06 lol. If it wasn't amazing i would have not gotten one, or have sold/traded it a while ago. Although i still am once this warranty runs out.

I just know when there's better cars out there. I am open minded enough to admit, accept and praise that. Like the ZR1, 911 turbo , a GTR etc.

It's only my opinion. Doesn't mean i hate my car. I love it. I just think there's tons of other cars out there that are better.

I know I'm gonna get flak for saying this here when it comes to people justifying their zr1 purchase but here goes. As an alternate Option you could always do a Callaway package in SC 757 for $20,000 and get slightly more horse power and more tq and keep your warranty and save about 30 $35,000 over aZr1. I had to say it.

Yes yes I know itís still doesnít have the ZR one name plate that said it has all of the other important aspects of it. Albeit without the extra cooling for the track.

And yes I have a Callaway and I guess Iím a little biased just being honest. That doesnít take anything away from the ZR one I still think itís an awesome car but to me personally itís not worth 40 50,000 over a regular Z.

I would rather have multiple cars than having just one expensive one. The bargain of the decade C7Z allows me to do so. ZR1 is not a bargain nearly as much as a ZO6.

Itís all relative.

also me - ďbet that guy in the zr1 canít take me through that canyonĒ

Z06 is traction limited in 1st gear (assuming M7), and nearly so in 2nd gear. 0 to 60 mph should be about the same for both cars, and assuming ZR1 is traction limited in 2nd gear, it's not going to pull that much on the Z06 unitl 3rd gear. The Z06 has reached a point of diminishing returns. The C8's with all wheel drive will be able to handle the greater horsepower better.

On larger road course, the ZR-1 is good for ~1-2 seconds vs the Z06.

As many who have switched have found out, that benefit doesn't come easily. Getting that additional power down is challenging and takes a lot of skill/seat time.

I went out with a fellow instructor in his ZR-1 recently @ VIR (full).

Compared to my Z06:

Corner speeds were roughly identical
Higher entry speeds into T1, T7, T14
Higher speed/greater stability coming through T9 (upper esses), and T10 South Bend
Later application of WOT on track out.
Fluid temps were just as high as in my 2018 M7 Z06

The main take away was the benefits of increased (but delayed) acceleration, and speed via aero & more HP/TQ.

The ZR-1 is a phenomenal car, but it's not a night/day difference vs a Z06.
