Default M2W Switch Issues - Fuse Box

Long story short...one of the previous owners made a homemade M2W switch and use what looks like some metal claw as the input into the fuse box. The switch started giving me issues, so I ended up getting a real M2W switch. I found that a stock fuse makes a solid connection, but the M2W keeps coming loose even from the cam rocking the car.

I ended up pulling the fuse box hoping to be able to open it up real quick. Didn't have any luck and after googling it some, it looks like more trouble than I want to deal with.

Does anyone have any ideas to make the connect better in the slot?

If I get a new BCM, would it be a hassle to get it to work? Should I take it to the dealer?

That looks like the tap that is part of the M2W switch. The issue is it doesnt make a solid connect in the loose fuse port.

Gotcha, is it the right type ? I made my own MTW with one and have had no issues in 6 years/20k.

Yes the true M2W operates when I can get a good connection but it won’t stay in.

This was causes by someone using some random piece of bent metal as the fuse prongs on a homemade switch previously. It’s crazy that someone did this considering it’s a well kept low mile z07 car and the other mods are not cheap. Doesn’t even make sense to me.
