Default Side skirts

I have a 12' GS and I want to add side skirts. Do you guys have any recommendations and did you put them on yourself or have a shop do it. TIA.

C7 Carbon & easy to install yourself. You’ll need a front splitter as well.

Plenty of options out there, Carbon Fiber $$$$$, ABS painted $$$ or ABS unpainted $. I went with the ABS unpainted, pretty much matched the OEM rear diffuser and widow trim. It's low maintenance, don't have to worry about paint scratching or chipping. At the price tag under $320 for side skirts and front splitter if anything should happen it's affordable enough to replace. They all look great, but for me, I couldn't do carbon or painted unless I had the rear diffuser in carbon or painted.

Having been here 5 years, and being old -- the whole "skirts" thing still gets me whenever I see a thread about it. The first thing that always pops into my mind is this:

Side skirts are going to get scraped, rock chips, shoe marks, etc... Why bother with carbon fiber? It's not any lighter than ABS material...

You also do not need a front splitter to match if you already have a factory one. I paid $140 for mine from EOS off EBay. They were sent in awesome packaging (Huge cardboard tube) with hardware and instructions. Super easy to install.

YMMV.

Which brand were the ones that you got? That's what I'm looking for, I'd rather have unpainted, just knowing the paint will chip anyways.

Any instruction on the install of these? I'm going to go with the ABS ones to match my stock front splitter. Also, whats vendor do you all recommend I purchase from. The only one I found was corvettemods but I've heard bad things.
Thanks.

Is your car 12' long or 12' wide? Or is it lifted and 12' tall?

I like the ABS unpainted, especially if it closely matches the other black parts like the diffuser. You guys say super easy to install, but can you be more specific? I assume you still need to get the car off the ground somehow and do some measuring and drilling, correct?

ItomH, where did you source yours?

Install involves 2-sided automotive tape, and either rivets or self-tapping screws. The ABS kits usually come with self-tapping screws.

To install:
1. Jack up your car or preferably have it up on ramps/supports/lift.
2. Clean the area thoroughly on both rocker panels, wipe down with 50% diluted alcohol to ensure no wax/ect will cause the tape not to adhere.
3. Lay down the tape on the car-facing side of the side skirt. Do not take off the liner facing the car at this point.
4. The side skirts will have three pre-drilled holes on the front, which line up with factory panel clips/pins and is a great way to start lining them up.
5. Head to the rear of the skirt. At this point you will want to remove your rear wheel(s). Attach the "Mud Flap" which should have grooves molded to easily position them.
6. Once the "Mud Flap" is attached, you can now line up the rear of the skirt. Once you're happy with the position, peel the tape liner, and press on to the rocker.
7. Use your specified fasteners (Rivet, self-tapping screw) to secure the side skirts.
8. Step back and admire your work.
