there are about three companies that make batteries and then rebrand them for everybody. I like the diehard and interstate brands…

I put ACDelco AGMs in my Jeeps and have had a heck of a lot better luck with those than the junk FCA installs. I did an ACDelco Gold in my C7 after 4½ years as preventative maintenance.

RockAuto and Amazon typically have the ACDelcos for cheaper than anything at the parts store.

Looks like the ACDelco 48AGM is $3 cheaper at RockAuto right now using a 5% off promo code than Amazon Prime (including tax & shipping).

A 2-3 year old Delco battery should not be failing unless you have something going on. Should last 6 years or more. I recommend the below.

Also consider the WallyWorld Everstart Platinum H6 AGM battery, it is physically an exact replacement and probably made by the same manufacturer that makes the ACDelco AGM. The main advantage the WallyWorld battery has is if it fails on the road you can easily find a place to replace it. I don't know how the ACDelco warranty replacement works when purchased online. If it can be replaced at any place that sells ACDelco batteries then that would be best.

4-year replacement warranty, similar pricing too (still sub-$200): https://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart...-CCA/944775111

Not quite correct as there's actually 6-7 battery manufacturers. Hard to keep an exact tally as they seem to change ownership fairly often. Johnson Controls for example who was one of the largest was bought out not too long ago.
The battery manufacturers don't typically just rebrand their batteries, they manufacturer batteries to different battery companies and retailers specifications.
You might have Delco and Interstate batteries coming off the same manufacturer's line yet both are totally different.

I owned a chain of auto parts stores for 16 year and have visited the larger battery manufacturers. I sold Delco, Exide and Deka (East Penn Manufacturing, the largest battery manufacturing facility under one roof in the world).

Eray has a lithium 12v battery, if going to lithium, I'd research that one.

I did a lot of research on this a few years ago. What I learned is most every battery in the US is built by Johnson Controls ot Gould, most by Johnson no matter what brand is on the label. What I found was the best warranty, price and availability of warranty replacement was Wal-Mart. Theirs is a Johnson Control battery with 3 options and warranty, cranking amps, etc. The beauty is there are Wal-Marts in every podunk town in the US if you are in the road and have a problem and installation is included, if you choose. On my everyday drivers I let them do it, not on my Corvettes. I have now been using them for years. The last one I bought had a full replacement 3 year warranty, not pro rated. With batteries now pushing $200, that could be important.

There are a few websites that have lists of who makes which. .

Costco has an Interstate AGM Grp 48 for $169.99.I can buy 5 of these plus a NOCO booster plus for jump starts amd and a CTEK battery maintainer(works on AGM ) for price of one Antigravity Lithium!Antigravity just not cost effective to save 20-25 lbs on a street car,

A battery you don't want to buy is one that's been sitting on a shelf forever.
Walmart has a round sticker on top with the month & year it was made.
I always pick out the newest one....usually only a month or two old...

Odyssey Group 48 AGM is about the best you can install and made in USA. You do not want the lithium used in the Eray, the charging voltages are not programmed for it. Its not a direct swap.

I keep watching for it to appear in RockAuto's database. When it does, I may just give it a try (pending price & weight).

You are correct!
However I don't always trust 'stickers' as they are easily removed/replaced. Batteries have a date code stamper into the casing (typically side), that can't be changed.
