I have none of the parts for the windshield washer system for my 61 except the nozzles and the wiper switch. I do, however, have a universal electric washer pump and reservoir kit that I could install but it can't use the existing wiper/washer switch. I'd have to install the supplied operating button on the dash.
Does anyone know of a vacuum type switch or relay that would activate the washer pump using the existing wiper/washer switch?
Alternatively, is there a replacement washer system kit made for my 1961?
You would plumb the output of the dash button valve tubing to this switch. It's a SPDT switch so you'd bring fused power in and run the output to your washer pump.
The switch specs are in the eBay listing. It might be a option.
If you're washer coordinator up at the motor is still good you could have that Tee'd in the vacuum plumbing to turn on the wipers when the washer pump runs, similar to original operation.
I installed the raingear system in my 61. 1958 to 1962 Chevrolet Corvettes - RainGear Wiper Systems I also added their washer kit which uses an electric pump. I removed the shelf on the passenger side and both seats to have room to work under the dash but got it installed in a weekend with help from one other person. The only difficulty was installing the new pivot shaft on the driver's side. I did have to use the new **** that came with the system as I couldn't get the original to attach to the switch.
