Hi everyone,
I recently bought a 78 base model with 70 series
tires and stock wheels. I put 255/60’s all around
and now the front wheels rub on full turns. Had
an alignment done and still have the same problem. Doesn’t look like it was ever hit but I
don’t know for sure. Any suggestions?? Should
I go with a different size for the front?? Appreciate
any input.

You have to cut away some of the fiberglass at the rear of the front wheelwell. That's what the factory did to accommodate those tires. The factory assembly manual shows the details of this modification, but it's pretty obvious what needs to be trimmed.

Thanks for sharing this with me. I do see
where it is rubbing. Any suggestions on how
to trim the edges? Any specific tools that I
should use? Appreciate all the help. I’m
kinda new at this.

I believe when I did mine I used a die grinder with a cutoff disc but you could probably do it with a hacksaw. It's fiberglass so it cuts pretty easily and doesn't really leave a sharp edge. If it does, some sandpaper will take it down. Much easier than working with metal.
FYI grinding fiberglass is dangerous without proper protection. It creates fine, airborne glass shards and resin dust that can cause severe itching, skin rashes, eye irritation, and long-term lung damage (e.g., bronchitis or asthma). Always wear a respirator, goggles, and full-coverage skin protection to avoid these hazards. I always wear a respirator...
Excellent advice on the PPE for the fiberglass dust. I have to admit I am not good at protecting myself.
Here are my wheel wells. Sorry about the poor quality photos.
Thank you for letting me know about the fiberglass dust. I will definitely mask up and wear
protective clothing.
Where is it rubbing, can you post a pic? It was not only the rear of the wheel well that was trimmed when you got the larger tire but the front also. Are you going to try trimming the front ? they actually did it by hand at the factory.

Do you have stock wheels?
Can you post a picture of the alignment report?
